Ryan is v attractive and it's very distracting. On a different note, I feel like I'm too mature and serious about life like Barbara was saying. It's not fun but it's also kinda nice because people who are adult adults (especially teachers) appreciate that I think because they don't want to deal with annoying kids they just want to do their job and get their coins

living on my own for the first time wasnt a big deal. latchkey kid with a working single mother and a little brother. tbqh when i moved out my biggest concern was "who is going to take care of nic all day"

I still enjoy things like a kid I work in theatre so we all have that sophomoric humor and such and I am obsessed with Disney but I really moved on from childhood when I turned 13/14 and moved in to help take care of my grandparents I had more things to do around house and help make them meals while doing school work and any other school activities and once I reached college was helping more with my Nana when my papa passed and then after college helping take care of her and helping clean her and such when you are 22/23 and helping clean up you Nana's accidents that really is a smack in the face of adulthood

I'm 47 years old married and have two adult kids. my wife and I still feel like kids, oh we still work hard and do the adult thing but we go a see the latest Disney / Pixar movies we play board games and D&D with our friends and laugh at fart jokes.

it's how you handle responsibility there's a time to play and a time to do what's needed.

It's when I figured out the difference is when I realized I wasn't a "child" anymore.

A big step in becoming more mature (since I don't think there is a fine line between adult and kid) that some people don't bring up enough that I experienced is when you get your first job and you finally start paying for your own things. I never got allowance as a kid so I had to ask for anything I wanted. Once I got my first job and started paying for transportation, meals, school supplies and obviously video games, it quickly became apparent to me of how much more freedom I had as a person, relating to Barbara's point.

I think I'll become an adult when I have no one taking care of me anymore. It's kind of like Barbara saying it's when no one stops you from doing what you want, but in a different light. I'm about to graduate college, but even in college there is a place for me to live and a dining hall to get food from and I don't have to pay bills in a dorm; I still feel like I'm being taken care of; even if they're not telling me what I can't do, they are providing me the opportunity so that I can do a lot of things.. Being an adult is realizing you are the smartest one in the room, and you can't look up to someone else to take care of you or your problems.

to me, you're not an adult until you have felt the weight that comes from working a job that pays for your rent, car insurance, health insurance, and be able to save for your future. I'm 20 years old and I know I'm not at that point so I don't consider myself an adult.

the most important thing when playing with kids is NEVER, EVER ask yourself "wtf am I doing" cause the chances are that whatever you're doing is and feels pretty ridiculous. It's all about imagination!

Moving into my own house was when I started feeling the adulting. Working hard for my teen years didnt feel like being all grown up because weekends still meant parties. But buying that house at 22 really felt like I wasnt a kid anymore.

I realized I was an adult when I know what it feels like to pay rent and then survive on leftover money. That and not having family/friends around who support you.

First time I realized I was an adult was a few weeks ago actually (I'm 19). I got an email that I have to turn in my tax refund and I had to go through a whole ordeal to get my electronic ID working and it all was just a big hassle. But other than having responsibilities, what's different in being an adult than being a kid?

The first time I realized I was adult? I had to book my own Doctors appointment ... I may put off going to the doctors as long a physically possible but that's not the point :P

I like to say that the first time I realized I was an adult was when I was 19 and filed my tax returns, got an estimate of how much money I would get back, and my first thought was "Yay! Now I can afford to buy a vacuum!"

Or maybe that's just when I realized I was lame, either way.

I realised I wasn't a kid anymore when I actually felt the need to buy christmas/birthday gifts instead of giving crappy failed craft projects. I still craft the occasional gift, but the quality has improved.

i think my first realization that i was an adult, i was still living at home during college, but i realized i could just leave, go to the gas station, and buy a candy bar at 1 in the morning because i fucking felt like it. sometimes i would just go for a drive late and night for no reason.

growing up ive realized a BIG part of staying a kid (in a good way) is to never lose that sense of wonder. like when you are little and you have NO idea what mysterious land lies beyond the street your house is on, or when you ride in a car to go somewhere and you have no clue where you really are, you just know youre not home, and other places other than where youre "supposed to be" seem like unreachable far far places. it kind of kills it when you get a licence and start driving yourself places that you realize school, or your parents job, wasnt that far away. thats why i love exploration games like (braces for downvote) no mans sky and other open world games, you can see a mountain and not know whats on the other side, so you get that feeling of being small in the world like when you were a kid.

My realization that I was an adult was me staring at my debit card in a Walmart and realizing I don't need an occasion to buy a birthday cake.

I could just have one. To eat whenever I please. Which happened to be breakfast a lot.

Everyone remembers when they realized they weren't kids anymore! Mine was when I went to boot camp. I got off the bus and some short red haired guy looked at me and said "GET IN LINE ASSHOLE! DON'T LOOK AT ME!!!" Good times...

Are there adults who are like, actually adults and not kids in grownup bodies? I have yet to meet any. I don't think it's actually true that they exist.

Then you're hanging out with the right kind of people. I know of some people who can't laugh at themselves and/or stupid shit, who have no sense of whimsy or wonder, who don't love to make believe. I'm very glad I'm not like that.
