Breaking Conventions, Touching Glass

RT Animated Adventures: Breaking Conventions, Touching Glass

Back when Halo 3 was released, Gus and Burnie go to a convention that had more people working there than people attending. So they played Halo. Burnie also talks about not touching any fucking glass.

I worked for a one of those kinda restaurants and the worst part was is that it's completely against health code for them to do that, so our managers always got on us to remind a customer when they did that. (Not that I didn't mind telling someone to put their grubby hands back on their side but it made their stupid idea our responsibility). So we had multiple situations where we'd tell someone that you can't do that and it's against health code yadda yadda and they would just get sooo mad and throws slurs at us before storming to the register or just give these death glares

'don't touch the glass (unless you're drinking from it)' should be a t-shirt.

I can understand kids when they push against the glass door without using a handle, but when an adult does it, oh boy I wanna teach'em a lesson.

As someone who work at Freebirds for a year, every other dumbshit customer (whether there were some backwater fuck face, or suburban cunt) would reach over the glass so often. It was annoying because I'd TELL people what the items were; sometimes twice!

I remember the good old days when my boss told me if a customer touched the glass I could tell them to leave. Ah, there was a reason that business didn't last very long, but it was glorious while it lasted.

I work at Subway, and let me tell you, one of my biggest pet peeves is parents that let their kids smear their hands all over the glass divider that I just fucking cleaned.

I am 100% pro not going beyond the glass with arms and stuff.

But Why not touching the glass?

Isn't that ... there ... to be touched?

I mean, what harm does touching the (outer) glass mean?

If you don't touch it, it won't even make much difference, will it?

    I love the animation  heart

Because some poor shmuck has to interrupt his other duties to go out and clean off your finger prints. Its especially dickish if they just cleaned it. When I was still in the service industry, people putting their greasy ass finger prints on the glass is one of the things that pissed me off the most. The door handles are there for a reason, and you can point to what you want in a display without touching the glass.

Maybe you just washed your hands, and that's great (but you're still going to leave fingerprints) - but think on the other end of the spectrum. Some super gross person puts their grody hands all over the glass and when you walk into the place, instead of a nice sandwich or dessert item, you see someone's gross fucking handprints (or, I swear, some snotty kid's mouth/face print) all over it instead. You'll think, A.) Gross and B.) do they not clean stuff here?

Also, why do you need to touch the glass? Why does anyone actually need to touch it? There is no reason! I work in a place with a Cafe and the glass constantly has to be cleaned. Making much difference or not, it's still an issue of keeping the place in a sanitary condition (just like wiping down tables, chairs, and the floor - I mean, you're not eating off the floor, but you still want that to be clean, right?).

    • keymaster151

first, it's not polite to dirty the glass with your hands.

second, it is called a sneeze guard and a food safety requirement. it is there to prevent people from sneezing or breathing on the food and spreading pathogens. and you just put your hand on it. and then most likely didn't wash your hands before touching your food. think about it.

I'm with Gavin on this. They should just use a numbering system. It would be so much more easier, and numbers are international. You got someone who doesn't speak the language or doesn't speak it very well (Maybe they're from China, on a visit or something. Whatever), they can just hold up fingers or some shit. They don't have to say things like, "I want Tribean Lettuce, and the Cordozorolla Beef on my taco."

I have to agree with Gus on the whole glass pane divider. Its so damn annoying when the person in front of you is basically attempting to reach over the glass and touch the food. Hell i remember one time at subway this clearly sick person(tissue in hand, eyes red, and friend saying hey you feel any better) basically pointed over the glass and almost touched the tomatoes.  No way in hell i had tomatoes that visit and i love tomatoes. I also have to somewhat agree with burnie on not touching the glass on everything except for the food divider. Mostly because i touch the divider BUT i dont go over it.

    • dantheman007a FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

Not that it makes them any less douchey for reaching over the glass, but I can think of several other reasons someone might have those "sick person" symptoms, such as allergies, a bad breakup, vigorous public masturbation, or stubbing their toe on the table really hard.

    1st,

Another great episode! Made my morning even better!! XD

    2nd,

As someone who works in the food industry, I have 100% authority when I say people who put there hands behind the glass are the most FUCKING STUPID ASSHOLES. One time a customer did that and his fucking sleeve touched like two other items. So I charged him for those items and he paid without saying anything, because he knew he was in the wrong!!

Burnie for best dad award!! I'm a janitor right? So for example, once I'm actually standing there cleaning glass doors, when a mother and 4 or 5 year old child walk out the door next to me. I hear the mom say, 'don't touch the glass, she's cleaning it.' IMMEDIATELY the little boy puts his full palm on the door I had just finished with. Mom does absolutely nothing except say 'sorry' and pull him away. I woulda bent that little bastard over my knee, boy

l love listening to Burnie and Gus get pissed about things , but they are completely right about everything they say. Most of the time it's parents who just let their kids run around touching everything. It is so annoying and gross.

I mean...if you're walking into a Subway for example do you really need stuff labeled?  I would hope that almost 100% of the population can ID lettuce, onions and pickles XD

@cmitts93 The only thing i would say that absolutely needs a  label are all their  sauces. Subway has like 9 different sauces i think and they all tend to be crammed into one bucket to the side and just saying "That sauce" wouldnt be very helpful. Most subways have a sign that says the sauce names but i have been to some subways where i couldnt find the sign. But those have mostly been subways attached to gas stations when i go on road trips.
