Poor Brandon, his marriage hasn't even begun and he's already feeling his mistake.

After a quick google search for recycling pizza cardboard boxes: essentially the oil cannot be separated from the paper fibers. It doesn't do anything to the machine or the process as a whole, it just doesn't produce quality paper products. In case anyone was wondering.

At the UW, I have no clue what paper or cardboard is recyclable. I'm constantly afraid that I'll throw away a recyclable and someone will see me.

Brandon he doesn't sound like a really nice guy, he sounds like a dumbass who doesn't know how to shut his damn mouth or care who he fucks over. I could understand the night of he tells his wife or fiance what he did because he's drunk but that aftermath shit as unacceptable.

Recycling in the UK is such an effort honestly.

    We have:

    - One big bin for non-recyclables

    - One big bin for recyclables

    - One big bin for bio-degradable things (such as things from the garden)

    - One small box for aluminium cans

    - TWO small boxes for paper/cardboard and things like that

    - One small bin for food waste

    • lcephoenix FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

It's similar here in Germany, just without the small bin for food waste (that usually goes together with what you described as "things from the garden") - and we also got something to put our glass in that we then bring to used glass containers (where we differentiate between white, green, and brown glass).

Wow you have a lot more than us (Merseyside)

1 big bin for non-recyclable, 1 big bin for recyclable plastics / paper / cardboard, 1 big bin for gardening and stuff. We had a food box at some point but they're not bothering with that anymore (they were way too small and rotted and got moldy way too easily)

Teflon is fine to cook with as long as you don't heat an empty pan past ~400F and is only made of 2 elements, carbon and fluorine.

I've been using the same Teflon pan/pot set for 5+ years. If you only use wooden/plastic spatulas and ladles, the teflon material won't erode. But the moment it gets a scratch where you can see the metal beneath...toss that shit.

Korea has the most trash per item bought than anywhere I've ever lived. Going to the store to buy a regular box of cookies or crackers, there's a cardboard box with tear away tabs then each cookie has its own foil wrapping. Buying a fast food meal to-go, there's the big bag for everything, the bag for the fries which come in their own cardboard, the bag for the burger which is wrapped and then the bag for sauces, staws, and napkins, and finally the drink comes in a plastic baggy around the cup.

On the subject of recycling, trash in Japan is interesting. I can't speak for the entire country, but in Kyoto we've got three separate bins. One is for plastic/glass bottles and cans, another is for plastic waste (bags, wrappers, bottle caps, etc.), and the last is for food waste/burnable garbage. Then there's also a separate collection just for paper and cardboard stuff. (Although non-recyclable paper goes into the burnable bin.)

You're supposed to use plastic utensils on non-stick pans so you don't damage the coating. Basically anything you can chew is soft enough to not scratch it.

To be fair to Gus, there's usually a Materials Recovery Facility somewhere along the waste management chain.

Waste is almost ALWAYS separated into different categories (paper/paperboard/cardboard, yard trimmings and food, plastics, rubber, leather and textiles, metals, wood, and glass), they don't just drive the garbage truck directly from your house to the landfill. If you throw an aluminum can in the trash, it probably won't make it to a landfill in the first place, and even if it DOES then there's still "landfill mining and reclamation," which is something they do to recover recyclable materials. Excavators and very large magnets are involved.

Japan also doesn't have many public trashcans. You're expected to carry your trash with you. It's also why eating/drinking on-the-go is looked down upon and not common; because when you finish your food/drink while you're walking around, you'll have to keep your trash til you find a trashcan.

I can confirm this. I've been here (Kyoyo) for three months, and the only trash bins I've seen in public are recycle bins that are sometimes set next to vending machines.
