This is more a general message directed at anyone bored enough to read it, definitely not at anyone on the podcast.

I'm all for holding news organizations to higher standards than individuals, after all that was originally how they were designed in America. Obviously CNN's actions violate those standards, and they should be held accountable.

However, there is a bigger picture here. Other news organizations have been breaching these same standards for years. In fact, they've done it so much that it's no longer even a news story, it's just how they operate. Now, as of recently, certain government organizations have also abandoned many of these ethics in how they communicate and operate.

From the perspective of someone at CNN, abandoning these ethics now probably seems more necessary than ever before, regardless of how destructive to the ideals of news it may be. If they didn't adapt to the new social climate their inevitable loss and collapse likely seems imminent.

So, yes, it's perfectly reasonable to say they were in the wrong and criticize them. But the justification for the actions they've taken are based on the ignored wrongdoings of others. If you want to fix the problem you can't just be critical of the newest party being unethical, you also need to target the original source, regardless of whether or not it is "old news".

To be clear, I'm not trying to defend CNN. I'm trying to point out a larger trend and focus on the source, rather than a symptom. If you don't want things like this to happen, hold everyone to the same standards. Don't dismiss similar actions from other sources just because that is what is expected of them. And more importantly, don't let every next big shock story act as a scapegoat for the previous big shock story.

Honestly, Ashley's argument on why she thinks McDonald's fries are the exact reason I hate McDonald's fries. It's entire flavor is based on salt; beyond that there is no flavor. Maybe it's because I like potatoes, but if a fry doesn't taste like a potato, it's a bad fry; therefore, McDonald's fries are bad. Culver's fries actually taste like a fried potato; they are the best fries I've ever had and part of why I love Culver's (along with butterburgers...Mmmm. ^_^)

Couple of things about meme guy. He's in his 40's, so calling him a "kid" is inaccurate. Also, he didn't just make the CNN wrestling meme, he was also responsible for a lot of hateful content, anti-semitic stuff, very vitriolic. If someone's going to put that kind of stuff out there, sure free speech is a thing, but you should at least have the balls to put your name to it.

People also forget that the first amendment protects your rights to free speech, meaning the GOVERNMENT can't stop you from saying things. That doesn't mean you're free from consequences if you say things people don't like

As a guy I get a headache every other week.  Was very nearly daily when i was in elementary school.  And speaking of being a kid, my preferance for chicken nuggets means i have also never had a bigmac, as i stopped wanting mcdonalds shortly after that age where you would have switched.

So the men age faster because the accumulate more iron is bs.
There is a disease where you accumulate too much iron, called haemochromatosis, a genetic disorder (actually several genetic disorders run under the same name, but the end result is the same, just at different points in life)
As our bodies do not have a means to get rid of Iron, the absorption of iron is very well regulated. If you have enough Iron in your body already, the absorbed Iron does not get out of the mucosal cells of your bowel and into your bloodstream but instead store it, and as those cells die (and they do regularly) the iron they store up is lost as well.

What is considered by many to be the first recorded occurrence of bubonic plague was the plague of Justinian in 541-542 AD. It may have occurred earlier to this but this is difficult to confirm as there is little to no physical evidence to study the further you go back and historic accounts are not always reliable in confirming which pathogen was responsible for earlier plagues. It has also re-emerged many times through out history even into the modern day with the black death in the 14th century being the largest outbreak I know of. Point being bubonic plague never really went away so it's a little odd to say that the disease started or stopped at any particular points in history. Also the main vector for Yersinia pestis the pathogen that causes bubonic plague is fleas and the rodents they feed on so while better societal sanitation and hygiene would help limit the spread it wouldn't stop it. Sorry for the internet guy block of text but this has been an area of interest for me and can't help but want these things to be as accurate as possible.

To answer Ashley's concern: I've had pink hair for a year and a half now, and the upkeep just becomes a normal part of my routine. Plus, I have this pink conditioner that I use every time I wash my hair, so I can go 6 weeks without going to a salon and the color only fades a little bit over that time. If I was a natural platinum blonde it would be even easier because the hardest part is getting highlights put in my hair so that the pink dye can go on top of a light enough color.

It was way harder to upkeep when I was going for a really bright pink look because I redyed it every other week, but I've got it much more pastel now and it's pretty chill.

Also, to keep it healthy and make sure it doesn't break off like your horrifying perm story, I use 3 times as much regular, cheap conditioner than any human should. I probably condition my hair 3 times for every shampoo.
