I loved this podcast and post show! It felt very genuine. I'm also really digging this new Thursday podcast setup with the 1 on 1 (and side guests).

The whole parenting subject was great. I'm newly married, and my husband and I don't want kids. We're life driven at the moment. We want to build our careers, travel and love the life we have. We know we're "selfish" but that's why we're choosing not too. I have friends my age that don't accept this and part of my family as well. It can be really upsetting.

Lindsay is a mother that many mothers should aspire to be. Open mindedness is beautiful and wonderful. You Go Glen CoCo!

Also on a separate topic don't let your 7 year old watch Silence of the Lambs. My mother did that for me. I had nightmares for years. sweat_smile

Very Enlightening. Strangely, I was the kid that knew what he wanted to do. But, coming from a single parent home, my mother felt everything I wanted to do was unnecessary. Blacksmithing, mechanical tinkering, electronics, chemistry, things of that nature. I missed so many opportunities to do what I loved, and it made me complacent. I respect Lindsay for being very open to what her child wants. Almost wish she was my mother, but...that'd be a strange case considering my age. XD

A little off topic, after watching RT podcasts for a long time, the dynamic camera angel is really weird, i am so used to static shots that it really threw me. I am always up for new things though, keep up the good work.

This really shows how great of a parent Lindsay is. She puts so much thought into her child's wellbeing and wants to let her make her own choices but also give her opportunities. Little Iris is gonna grow up loving life and loving her parents.

Burnie is insane. Maker's may not be super expensive aged scotch or anything but it is top shelf bourbon.

What Burnie said about interests really got to me. I was involved in four sports as a kid, but I gradually quit all of them by 10th grade. All I knew was that I liked reading and playing video games, and Roosterteeth. It took me two years to discover a passion for writing. It wasn't that my parent's didn't support my interests, it was that I had a really hard time figuring out what I wanted to do with my time, and it ended up not involving sports in any way. I was also extremely awkward as a kid, so that didn't help me either. They let me quit things I didn't like, in one instance they even quit for me. Just let kids be kids.  They'll figure out what they want to do.

Real men drink warm whiskey Burnie :)

On the parent subject, I'm in the same boat as him. My parents didn't push me very much, and although they were well meaning I do wish I'd gotten into music as a kid.

One thing I will always thank my parents for was them making me do something as an extracurricular as a kid. I didn't want to play football (soccer) when I was little because I was constantly picked on for being fat, they didn't mined as long as I did something resembling physical activity. I chose to attempt to play rugby and thats when they went all in, driving me to practices and matches 3 times a week, helping me train, my dad would even let me use him as a tackle dummy, when we immigrated they even made sure there was a local team I would be able to play on. I will always thank them for that, because I was able to choose a sport that spoke to me, a sport that I have loved for the past sixteen years. And if I ever have kids I hope that I'll be able to help them find an activity they love and that I get to aid them in their adventure.

I will fight every Lindsay hater there is, she's awesome. My mother took me to anime conventions every year for years when I was a kid. Fuck, even just this summer, she drove with me to Nashville for Con of Thrones! Bless parents that put up with their weird kids and take them to their nerd cons, because those are my most cherished memories.

My parents are older and aren't really on board with all this stuff and supporting too many non athletic/academic things. Now being in college a few years, I finally have the ability and confidence to sit my friends down in my room at my xbox and go "okay, here's what rooster teeth and achievement hunter are" and all that. And that last story legitimately brought me to tears. The things people do for their kids passions...it's one of the few things that makes me want to be a parent. I want to have a kid whose passions I can support and stuff.

With shows like Day 5 and Crunch Time, those are series that we can also introduce parents into RT as well. They're more likely to watch a live action production than an animated series.

A tip for getting kids to like veggies. Don't always go with plain steamed/roasted veggies, etc. Find something to make with them, to kind of enhance the flavors. Like, you might try veggie lasagna like chicken pot pie with the carrots and peas and stuff in it. That way you get the vitamins and minerals and stuff but gets a less plain taste

I've enjoy the usual 4 person podcast more than the new 2 person podcast because it can feel more of an interview than just a casual conversation. That said Burns & Lins made this episode really enjoyable and have me now looking forward to more!

RT podcast, Always Open & Movie podcast (Funhaus) are my favourite regular Rooster Teeth shows.

Exactly, a lot of people get very uptight about how to drink Whiskey. I bought a bottle for a mate who had never had it before and he asked me how to drink it, I just said, try it straight, try with dry ginger ale, coke or lemonade, just work out what tastes good to you.

As someone who actually enjoys working in food / customer service, I literally want to tear a cow into it's proper cuts when people start treating my coworkers and I like pieces of shit. You won't believe the many times good people would actually defend us (due to the 'Customer is Always Right' bullshit) from people who out right yell that we're stupid and even throw things at us when triggered over not having their honey baked ham in stock. ["It's not my fault Susan that the company is short stocked." is what I ended having to tell her.]:T Overall, this podcast/post show was amazing and having Lindsey on was great X3

In all the jobs I've ever worked in customer service, "the customer is always right" has never been an actual thing. I have no idea where that absolute nonsense came from. I've even been told the exact opposite at one job, that I should always assume the customer is lying to try and scam free shit out of us.

The ONLY thing I'd like to add is,.. right or wrong, happy or sad,.. the best thing you can do for your children is BE there. In a world uncertain, children will ALWAYS pit their life concerns with their immediate family. Being there with bad advice is more influential than having great advice when you were never there. Children NEED a stable nest to spread their wings and fly from.

Stable,.. bad or good,.. stability is what has proven a more involved human being. They don't have to look over their shoulder for acceptance, because they know how they felt when they 'left the nest.'

The world is now theirs, and parents will celebrate their life.

Once in grade school I was confronted by half my class about why I said please and thank you to the lunch ladies. Shocking, but not many of them are very good people these days.

I was forced into so many extracurricular activities. There was something different every day including weekends, sometimes two per day. It's great that my parents were willing to pay for and drive to all these things, but they couldn't afford it and I already knew I wanted to get into animation. Putting me in ten different sports, performing arts, and scouts for years and years on end with kids who actually physically beat me kinda got in the way of what I actually wanted to do with my life. My parents' solution? PUT ME IN TAE KWON DO so I could get suspended for defending myself. Maybe our house wouldn't have gone into foreclosure if my parents didn't waste all their money putting my sister and me in every conceivable activity...

Sorry. So yeah. My point is, don't force your kids into too many things at once.
