if your mother doesn't have a daughter and you marry a girl and you have a child, and she's a girl, and she has a daughter, and she has a daughter, and she has a daughter, and she has a daughter, and she has a daughter then one person down the line doesn't have a daughter,

AND THEY GO LIKE WOW I'VE BROKEN A FUCKING LINE GOING ALL THE WAY BACK IN FUCKING TIME,

I've heard the breaking the line of daughters thing from Burnie a couple of times and every time I hear it I think to myself, that's not right,

I bet that "alien superstructure" is going to be the next big thing in quantum physics. Like how the radio guys in New Jersey found interference on a superpowerful radio and physicists figured out that it was radio interference(or something) from the big bang .

Quantum physics is the physics of matter at the scale of atoms and subatomic particles. An 'alien superstructure' would not be under the realm of quantum physics.

Pi R squared is area Burnie not volume you can't have volume of a 2 dimensional figure

Gavin doesn't know what a Dyson Sphere is? He needs to read more Halo books. Every Halo installation in existence in the games' time is 10,000 km in diameter. Installation 07 used to be bigger, as well as all previous Halos, but 07 was shrunk and the others were destroyed, while 01-06 were made by the Lesser Ark (00). A Halo is very nearly the size of Earth in terms of diameter, it's just that in the games they're usually in orbit around gas giants or near other large things.

We got showed a video song in Maths that explains the circle stuff. It goes '[PI]r[Squared] sounds like area to me. If I need the circumference I just need [PI]d' r being the Radius and d being Diameter. Good postcast, looking forward to the next podcast :)

Edit: Not sure if your allowed to link videos on here, but the song is called Circle Song, so blame that if the math is wrong :)

How can they say r/writingprompts is bad when r/trollxchromosomes is the worst pile of shit ever. It's really woman's r/funny and it's not even funny or remotely good. And Barb's pitch of 'girls loving pizza' sounds so boring and dumb. That is what all the podcast crew said about Twitter. It's people that just tweet about there lives and no one cares.

I love watching the RT podcast and The patch and stuff... If only because all of the little tid bits of trivia that Burnie, Gavin, or Gus will bring up that is just.... the sliiiiightest bit off.

Also Dyson Spheres!? A mega structure around a star... How did none of them manage to bring up Star Trek?

Any ideas why all videos i watch on the RT site have buffering issues and the video always catches up and has to stop to buffer? Youtube is completely fine, from clicking on the video it never buffers, other videos are fine as well. Just streamed from RT, my videos buffer, i let them load and they still catch up, changed the quality right down to 238p, still buffers. I live in Australia, would that have something to do with it? annoying paying for a sponsor shipbut every video takes twice as long to watch because of this issue

luckily for me i didn't have this issue this time but a lot of the other videos do that to me as well. I live in north queensland and have NBN so i don't think it is an issue with net speed. I posted the same question one on of the RTES videos and it seems to happen to a couple of people.

I'm having the same issue, and have been since at least yesterday. I thought it was just me. I'm in the US by the way, so it must not be because of location

    • Natorious314

Happens to me on most if not all videos. I can load videos fine on youtube, and I can barely load a video on RT. I think it's just the player they use. Hopefully it gets fixed or they go to a different player.

The Halo analogy definitely worked for me. As I recall the installation in Primordium was smaller than a moon.

I'm thinking it's probably asteroids being interfered with by another stellar object, but we'll see. A partial Dyson sphere, even if it's an ancient alien ruin on a stellar scale rather than an in-progress sphere would be cool as fuck to see.

I believe the word Burnie was looking for was area, not volume. Volume if measured as a length is cubic, not squared. Plus I remember that equation by singing it to the melody of the wheels on the bus: the area of a circle is pi r squared, pi r squared, pi r squared...

So, I'm very skeptical about this whole mega-structure hype. However, for the sake of argument if, and that is a very strong if, there was an alien civilization using a Dyson sphere to collect all the energy of a star, how would we know? Just a writing prompt. ;P
