Okay you want to sit and go 'yeah time is bullshit" go to the fucking arctic circle. As a kid, I got to go to Norway during a period when basically the sun never set. I remember being yelled at by my mom that it was midnight and I should be in bed but I point out the window and went, But the sun is still out. yeah time is bullshit lol *year old me going "time doesn't exist!!!"

    Regarding the "95%" debate...
The answer to end all arguments is that Joel most likely misunderstood this commonly known naval fact:
"The ocean is the lifeblood of Earth, covering more than 70 percent of the planet's surface, driving weather, regulating temperature, and ultimately supporting all living organisms. Throughout history, the ocean has been a vital source of sustenance, transport, commerce, growth, and inspiration.

Yet for all of our reliance on the ocean, 95 percent of this realm remains unexplored, unseen by human eyes."
    -NOAA
    oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/exploration.html

    My work here is done.

I love bloody beer. I don't put Worcestershire in it and occasionally I add Tabasco but mmmmmm that's good. See I use V-8 so I get my daily dose of veggies and a beer to get a buzz and I'm set.

Joel was right!!!! There is land mass under the ocean that no human has ever seen and that is a lot of land. Id say about 95% of the total landmass

    Celsius is better

0 water freeze and bacteria goes dormant

    25 standard ambient temperature
    37 normal body temperature
40 is the limit above which a fever can damage the human brian.. could explain brandon
8 to 63 is classified as Danger Zone in Haccp which is temperature range in which bacteria can grow
75 is the usual temperature to store food ready to serve, cafeteria etc..
65 is egg white coagulation temperature
    60 is rare \
66 is medium rare\ for beef veal and red meat
    70 is medium /
    75 is well done /
75 is safe temperature for pork
80 is safe temperature for chicken
    80 is average Pasteurization temperature

Am I the only one that finds it a bit annoying when you hear anyone call COD4 by Modern Warfare 1 instead of COD4. It doesn't make sense when people say it, the 4 is there to emphasize the Call of Duty part.

The original Michelada is beer (any beer), lime juice and salt on the rim of the glass. What they prepare sounds more like a Chabela or an unfinished Beer Clamato which is an acquired taste.

The smell throws most people off because of the Worcestershire sauce, but if you prepare it yourself you can cut down on the heavy spices. A good mix is damn good!

If you swap to the metric system you're gonna NEED to deal with Celsius because other metric units and common facts are defined or linked to it. Like the density of water is defined as 1 gram per cm^3 at 0 degrees Celsius. Changing ONE unit in the system fucks EVERYTHING up.

You'll just have to learn to deal with Celsius if you swap to metric, unfortunately. You'll grow to like it in time anyway.

We fucking know what Kelvin is.

Gotta weigh in on the Fahrenheit Celcius debate:

1.) Did you know that 0 degrees Fahrenheit is based on the freezing point of brine? What the fuck is the point of that? Why do we need to use that as a point estimate? The argument that people cannot live below this is kind of weird - with sufficient gear, humans can live at absolute zero, and in the absence of clothing, humans would not survive at 32 degree Fahrenheit.
2.) The human body is 98.6 Fahrenheit. Not 100. This is purely because the dude messed up when he developed the system - he attempted to make his 100 point indicative of the human body temp.
3.) Boiling water is a fundamental component of much infrastructure in our day to day lives, involved in energy generation, heating, etc. In addition to this, most people boil water every day.
4.) As a scientist, I use Celcius - and Fahrenheit could not irritate me more.

    In summary: fuck Fahrenheit. :-)

  • Hierogriff

NO. JUST NO. Celsius is WAY better than Fahrenheit. It allows for scientific methods to be communicated between different groups of people. Picture the scene:
"Hey, I've discovered the optimum temperature for cold fusion. you got a pen?"
    "Sure! fire away."
"Okay, first heat the solution to 37 Fahrenheit..."
    "What's a Fahrenheit?"
"Oh. A 100 Fahrenheit is when a human dies."
"...Can't we use a scale that doesn't involve killing people, or that would be the same no matter the air pressure, health of the human etc.?"
"Well, we could, but I need to know how close I am to dying when I read my car thermometer."
