I love how, looking back on this, Gus's ideal downloadable situation (of pre-downloading games before launch, but it's not accessible until Launch Day [between 1:40:00 and 1:43:00]) is exactly how it works now. Someone at Microsoft was listening!

I also like how the idea was treated as too-good-to-be-true Magic when he said it :)

Technically, Gavin was right that you can be burned by light alone, if you consider that all electromagnetic radiation (including visible light, x-rays, gamma, UV, infrared) is essentially all the same thing: it's just light (photons) with different frequencies. This is the broad definition of light which is used in physics. I think an atomic bomb can burn people with radiation the same way the sun would burn us if we had no atmosphere. Technically it's not the heat alone that kills you; the intensity of the radiation will simply destroy organic tissue (cells) or even destroy matter on the chemical level (molecules).

If you take the narrow definition of "light", i.e.: "visible" light, than maybe Burnie is right that "brightness" (i.e. visible brightness) alone cannot kill someone. High enough levels of intensity ("brightness") from UV, X-rays and gamma rays however can. Also I'm not sure that a high enough intensity of purely visible light in itself couldn't be harmful to organic tissue, after all it is a form of electromagnetic radiation. That we can see it with our eyes doesn't make it less harmful when in high enough intensities. Not even considering the heat light usually creates of course, but I think that is mainly infrared light (not visible).

Because in addition: all light (electromagnetic radiation) also creates actual physical pressure, believe it or not. It can even push asteroids to make them spin faster, and it can be strong enough to oppose gravity: radiation pressure is the only thing that stops our sun (and all active stars) from collapsing under it's own gravity.

Sorry for the long post... I am an amateur astronomy nerd doing volunteer work at my local public observatory and I couldn't help posting this here. ;)

Did anyone else go and watch the "Monkey Chow Diaries" videos that Burnie talked about at the very end?
My favorite video has to be Diary 4, the one that Burnie talked about; more specifically at the very end where he talks about soaking the Monkey Chow in water, "Its like eating a soggy piece of bread; except like I said before it tastes kinda poop like. So basically I'm now eating soggy poop out of a bowl... Not an ideal situation."

Just to let you guys know, there is a form of National Security that the government has that the public is not largely aware of. The United States Navy has the "TACAMO" community who's only job is to deter countries from launching nukes at the US, because they have the ability to survive nuclear attacks and to launch nuclear attacks on their own.

    im probably wrong but,

Energy is proportional to the speed of light ^2 * mass

and kinetic energy = 1/2 mv^2 = 3/2 * K T, T is temperature. As the bomb explodes and releases a huge amount of energy, that causes massive mvement in particles which produces heat.

brendans wrong, xbox360 is only profitable as of the past few years, but negative overall

    ps3 is losing money

  • chris1111

i speculate that the ps4 won't be a great system due to the fact that sony has lost so much money year over year on the ps3. Less money and incentive to invest in the new system could mean the ps4 will be a disaster

xbox360 has lost money year over year for microsoft but no where near as much as the ps3

I'm going to comment on the "Light kills people" argument. While I agree that brightness does not kill people, Gavin is right in the sense that the light radiation literally vaporized them. (and the reason the sun doesn't damage us too much is because of the greenhouse gasses around our planet)

That dude is thinking too small when he said that it would be cool to have digital games for the same prize on lauch day, i mean ive played digital only on PC for ages now and im playing games when they release for 30-40e.

I hope that the prizing on P4 digital store atleast follows Steam on prizing and games are 10e off console prizes consistantly.

The reasons why I prefer a physical game copy to digital is that if my sister wants to play it the game wont be available to her in digital format, but if I have a physical copy I can lend it to her. The other reason is that if a company goes out of business and there was a game I never got around to five years ago I wont be able to get it.

First off, Gus there should be a little tab by the open tab on the 3DS that gives you the instructions, and I love being able to download titles on my 3DS but my worry is the fact that i am scared of running out of space. For instance, instead of taking up 2,000 blocks of memory i only take up 600 on extra data and also the fact that i cant use cash to buy a downloadable game, but other wise i would rather download games if it meant they were cheaper and i can play them instantly.
