Not sure if I would call Trump greedy.  He stepped away from his multi-million dollar company to become president and even turned down the usual $400,000 salary in exchange for a $1 salary.  Not gonna argue his policies, but his heart is in the right place even if he has questionable policies.

So basically all of the Schnee's are pretty cool people...except Jacques and Whitley.

I wonder if both Weiss and Winter had the same thoughts of "I want to be like grandpa" alongside the urge to escape the clutches as that sick f*** Jacques. I despise him even more now that I already did seeing as how he's apparently the main reason that everyone hates the name Schnee now in the first place.

I was hoping for Weiss to find the rest of RWBY and forget about the company but now I'm hoping that this is just a foreshadowing that Weiss is going to do her Grandpa proud when all is said and done with.

I thought the Schnee Dust Company was long-running, multi-generational company. Finding out it's actually only gone through a single changing of hands is a bit of a surprise. (I see Qrow was not only Ruby's teacher in the art of Scythe use, but also in drawing remarks/insults over a prop or piece of paper meant for actual work.)

That could actually make sense. In the image of Jacques and Mama Schnee getting married, Jacques's hair is black near the front and top of his scalp and white at the back and bottom. That is a bit reminiscent of Ironwood's hair; both of them have blue eyes too. Ironwood is supposedly "an old family friend", but he may be considered so because he and Jacques have an extremely tense relationship (Ironwood clearly has some serious grievances concerning Jacques's ethics) that certainly doesn't qualify as warm, let alone brotherly.

    • V2Blast

Assuming Ironwood's the general's real last name (and he didn't change it): not really, since Jacques' last name is "Joulet" or something like that.

I hope Weiss' father dies a horrible, horrific, well-deserved, painful death! He's an asshole, he actually struck his OWN daughter, and she's the sane one next to her older sister Winter!

I think losing his company and his power would be suffice enough; sort of like how Ozai had his bending taken away by Aang in ATLA. Rather than killing him, humiliate and castrate him to ensure that his spirit is broken. Though I wouldn't mind seeing him getting eaten by a Grimm a la Roman as poetic justice for not taking the fall of Vale too seriously.

I love Qrow's ADRed in "N" in the snob comment. I just really like how informal these have gotten it isn't the aloof headmaster of a combat school anymore, it's just some dusty old crow that doesn't real want to do it but does because "who else is gonna do it" but he still adds in his own opinions.

I like to compare the Schee family to a royal family. See, in royal families the first born (male) is the heir, the second is a spare and if the King and Queen should have a third, they're basically nothing. Now obvs gender doesn't matter in the Schee family, but there's still an heir, a spare, and a third. the heir was supposed to be Winter, but she persued a military carrier insted, so the spare, Weiss, becomes the heir and the third becomes the spare. Whitley is much closer to taking control of the company than he ever could have hoped before Winter dropped out, now alll he has to do is convice Weiss to do the same and he takes over, but he'll more than likely be even worse than his father, You can tell Jaques is an unpleasent man, but Whitly is just two-faced. We can tell from his conversation with Weiss that he and Winter never really got along, but suddely he wishes her the best. this is likely becasue she's no longer and obsticle to his takeover of the company. That roll now falls to Weiss.

    • annpet68

Whitley makes me think his dad did something to him while Weiss and Winter left because when he was introduced he mentioned something about growing up while Weiss was away.

I don't know if anyone has said this before but so we know Weiss is based on Snow White, I'm thinking her grandfather is Santa Clause (Nicholaus, you know?), her father is Jack Frost (Jacques) and I wonder if Winter might be based on Elsa. Not too sure about Whitley, any thoughts?

    • CobaltTiger78

If Weiss wasn't a real Schnee then she wouldn't be able to use glyphs/summon.

Also, in the next ep, she also outright yells at her father "I'm doing what's right for MY family. YOU only married into it!" or something similar. (Jacque then proceeds to do something that will later require much retribution)

You know I'm curious. Why is Weiss the heir and not Winter? Did she give it up once she went into the military or did her and Jacque have a fight so he took it away from her?

    • Jockco

I think its cause she joined the military.  I dont have any proof, but I think in the future we will find out more about winter.

    • AvaniFox

It hasn't been stated that Weiss is the only heir/heiress. Winter could be first-in-line for the company, with Weiss being second.

Also, it is likely that her heiress status was revoked upon joining the military. If you look on her and Weiss's pages, Weiss is affiliated with SDC while Winter is with the Atlesian military. On the SDC page it also says that she likely lost her heiress status upon enlisting.

    • Gamefisher

I think she's like Weiss; she doesn't really like her father that's why she encourages Weiss to keep rebelling against him.  When she joined the military she got out of being the heiress.

    • LeifAshryver

i believe it was revoked when she joined the military. I suppose they could say that the heiress couldn't be someone who could easily die in the line of duty, and use that as an excuse to change it to Weiss. I don't know how dear old dad will get away with the whole anouncing Weiss's sudden desire to step down in the long term, unless he intends to keep Weiss locked up forever. He doesn't seem like the kind of person to be very shortsighted and overlook problems that might arise in the long term. He's definitly used to playing the long game when it comes to getting what he wants.

  • Timbo33

A thought popped into my head last night about the Schnee family.

We know that the semblence of the Schnee's is Glyphs and that its hereditary. All the Schnee's have it(Winter said this to Weiss in vol 2).  So this should include Whitley. The only one that doesn't is Jacque Schnee due to him marring into the family and taking changing his last name to Schnee.

I wonder how powerful Whitley is(provide he is some sort of antagonist).

    • red_like_whiterose

I doubt Whitley is good with glyphs. He seems like he has more of a business-social mind like Jacques. Based on his actions and being the preferred child of Jacques, it makes me wonder if Whitley has ever even trained with glyphs at all. Also he is the youngest of the Schnee children, so there's that factor to consider as well.

    • Timbo33

True, Whitley does come off like a mini Jacque but less overt in his way of manipulation. Also can observe his supercilious nature(the way he talked to Weiss, his demeanor when he applauded Weiss that the concert). My gut says he's a possible wild card in the show or a support character for this volume maybe the next. Guess we will see.

    • Sonicdream2002 FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

I suspect that Whitley is working to become the sole owner of the family business. If his Aura was activated and he is well trained, it's possible Weiss didn't summon the Boarbatusk, but it was just set up to look like she did.

    • red_like_whiterose

Oh that left side. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Pausing at 7:23 in the episode, it looks like 3 Ursa Grimm faces. I think it represents the three bears from the fairytale Goldilocks and the Three Bears, since Yang alludes to Goldilocks.

    • Timbo33

      @Red_Like_WhiteRose

OK.....Now that makes more sense. Them being Ursa faces. I wasn't thinking in that frame of mind. I was kinda of hoping it was a tie in to Raven. Due to her having the Burning Heart patch and Tiayang's emblem on her Jacket sleeve. But alas it is the more simpler thing(too which I should have remembered the Goldilocks persona.)

This is what I love/hate about this show....LOL. I love how Monte came up with the characters and how RT puts stuff in there(to mess with you) and my mind sometimes tries to find a deeper meaning(which annoys the hell out of me).

      Thanks for the reminder.

I  have a semi-noob question. I have been following the series since Volume 1, but a missed a little bit of Volume 3. I have yet to see Qrow's origins fully addressed. We know he is Raven's brother, but is he a Faunus too? If so, are he and Raven full siblings or halfsies- like Yang and Ruby? These two questions give plenty to think about, because if he is Raven's blood sibling and a a Faunus, that means Ruby could potentially be a Faunus too. Thoughts (and clarifications)?

    • red_like_whiterose

What part of Volume 3 did you miss exactly?

I don't believe he is a Faunus....We see that he, and apparently his sister, can turn into a bird form, but I think that is a result of imbedding Dust into their clothing like it mentions in one of the World of Remnant shorts. Pretty sure they're both "normal" humans. I get the feeling they are full siblings, but there's nothing to back that up except my own guess :) . Almost seems like Cinder is somehow related possibly or was a member of the same group they were all in too..... They haven't shown much about Qrow's origins yet. I'm still waiting to see what the deal is between Qrow and Weiss' sister.

Eye colour is important in RWBY.  I figure that there is some other fairy tale based on red eyes, like Ruby and the silver eyed warriors, and that is the basis for Qrow and Raven's apparent ability to transform into birds of the Corvus family.  A transformation like that seems to be a bit too magical to chalk up to a Semblance based ability.

So, I have been doing a little fan fiction-y brainstorming. What if there is a nomadic tribe, or a village out there, that has managed to survive for years, maybe even centuries, due to the fact that they can make explosive and ammunitions without Dust? What if that tribe holds the key to the Silver Eyed Warriors? What if they can give answers to Ruby about who her mother was? What if they can tell her how to actually use her powers to the fullest?

It's about time Qrow brought his attitude to these World of Remant documentaries. This one felt fresh and new. Plus, it's worth noting that Qrow took time out of doubtlessly kicking Tyrian's butt up and down the street to give this little lecture about the SDC. Qrow's signature effortless, yet easy-to-miss badassery is still in full effect.

So Weiss' and Winter's white hair isn't a pureblood Schnee trait at all! Their father Jacque married into the family, bringing his snow-white hair and nasty attitude along. • Foxblaze

Uh.... did you watch the video? he had very dark hair, and people (including myself) had suspected he married into the family before this episode because of the family portrait seen in Weiss' episode where his hair wasn't completely white yet and everyone elses is. Whether or not it is a Schnee trait along with their semblances still isn't quite confirmed, but it is highly probable and at the very least the white hair seems to be a dominating gene trait if nothing else

Jacques 'not a real' Schnee competes against Raven for the 'Best Parent Ever' award.

Blake calmly asks her mum to "Stop hitting on Sun!"

Salem suspects Cinder may not have "killed dear Ozpin".

    Whitely carries on being Sh*tley.

We find out 'Where in the world is Neo?'

Klein regrets giving Mama Schnee another glass of wine.

Henry 'Sh*tty/Discount Neptune' Marigold tries to break the ice with other Atlas women. He fails. Spectacularly.

Somewhere in Remnant, a muffled yet familiar voice can be heard from within a Nevermore: "-ive!"

Cinder realises that being a villain may not have been her best plan.

Ironwood shoots the mole-faced woman dead. Everyone applauds.

Higanbana Waitress: "You won't believe the day I've had."

Team RNJR cheers Qrow on (even though it dosen't help).

I also like how they use a chaos star for their symbol, it's extremely appropriate as the symbol represents all elements.
