I learned about this neat tool for doing leather work and decided to make my own. Guess it's called a "leather modeling tool" which is a bit of a mouthful.
When you get something new you immediately want to use it, so I figured I'd do up a couple more bracers, seeing as there's not much to them. But what design am I gonna tool onto them? Not going to make an original design, I'd spend more time coming up with something than doing the actual leather work.
Well there was one thing I've toyed with the idea of doing for a while, now seemed like a good time to act on it. The sigil of the House Rooster Teeth shirt is just cool looking and fits the aesthetic of the bracers, the whole medieval/fantasy thing.
I cut the blanks for the bracers, then sized the sigil on my laptop before tracing it off the screen (I'm so professional), and transferring the design to the leather.
From there on out it's tooling and staining.
I think they turned out ok.
Threw together a quick photo shoot for fun too.
I'll be donating these to the 2018 Austin SideQuest charity auction.
