  • Security Plan- RTX Austin 2019

    nicolew Events Specialist

As many of you know, last year we implemented a new security plan.  Safety of our attendees, Guardians, Special Guests, Exhibitors, and staff is our number one priority.  The security checkpoints consist of walk thru metal detectors, a bag checker, and Licensed Police Officers. Please read the map below for queuing info, checkpoint rules, and operation hours.

star RTX Austin 2019 Security FAQ star

What will the security check entail once I get to the front of the line?

Once you arrive at the metal detectors, you will be asked to remove your bags/purses/etc. and remove everything from your pockets. A bag checker will inspect your bags and you will be asked to walk through the metal detector. Once you have been cleared, you may retrieve your items. If the metal detector is alarmed, a wander will provide a second search of yourself and belongings.

Why has RTX added so much security?

The most important part of RTX is always safety. We want to ensure all of our attendees, Guardians, special guests, exhibitors, and staff are safe at all times. Please be respectful to all security, Guardians, and RTX Staff as we are here to help you have a fun and safe weekend.

What are helpful DO’s and DONT’s?

    • Do wear your badge visibly at all times. You cannot get into RTX without it. Lose your badge? It can be replaced for $10.00 at Registration.

    • Do listen to the Guardians to ensure you are in the correct line.

    • Do prepare your belongings as you approach the walk-through metal detectors so that you can get through security as quickly as possible.

    • Don’t bring any weapons. RTX is an all-weapons-free event. This means both illegal weapons and licensed to carry weapons are prohibited at all times. BUT - If you have a cosplay weapon, you must visit the Weapons Check stations at Checkpoint 2 or Checkpoint 3 to get it approved.

    • Don’t try to cut the lines as you will be asked to leave.

    • Don’t bring large bags as these will cause longer waits.

If I leave the Austin Convention Center for lunch, or to attend a panel at another hotel, will I have to go back through security to enter?

Yes, everyone entering the ACC will have to go through the security checkpoint.

How long will the wait times be each morning?

Based on last year, we do not expect wait times longer than 5 minutes in the mornings. We highly encourage you to not bring large bags (bigger than 12”x12”) when possible and to be prepared as you get to the front of the security checkpoint. We also recommend you check out the RTX Animation Festival at the Fairmont for early morning panels and then head to the Austin Convention Center mid-day.

What should I expect from the weather while waiting to get through a security checkpoint at the ACC?

Looking at past weather averages for Austin in July, we anticipate temperatures to be in the high 70’s/low 80’s between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Most of the checkpoints are under covered awnings. We also encourage you to wear hats, sunglasses  and wear sunscreen throughout the weekend.

How many metal detectors will there be this year?

Across all four checkpoints, there will be 15 total metal detectors.

Can I refuse to be screened by security personnel?

Yes, it is your choice to do so, but unfortunately, if you refuse to go through a walk thru metal detector, you will not be allowed into RTX.  If you refuse, a Licensed Police Office will ask you to leave. If you cause a disturbance of any sort, Austin Police Department will be called. Anyone requiring ADA access can enter at any of the four checkpoints, as all have ADA entrances.  If expectant mothers do not want to go through the walk-through metal detector for screening, you may enter the ADA entrance and be wanded/bag checked.

Where do I pick-up my attendee bag?

If you’re picking up your bag on Thursday, Exhibit Hall 2 from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM via Checkpoint 2. If you are picking up your bag on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, Registration located in the Level 1 Solar Atrium from any of the operating checkpoints.

Where do I pick up my commemorative badge, RTX Bandana, or RTX Bundle?

These items are available to pick up via Will Call at Registration located in the Level 1 Solar Atrium.  You must have your Front Gate confirmation email (either printed or electronically) and a valid photo I.D to pick up.

If I need to pick up my badge onsite, what do I do?

You must show your Front Gate confirmation email (either printed or electronically) and a valid photo I.D. at the security checkpoints to enter the building. You can get your badge at Registration located in the Level 1 Solar Atrium.

I have a medical disability. Where should I go for my medical sticker?

Please use the Fast Pass (pink) line at any of the 4 security checkpoints and go to Registration in the Level 1 Solar Atrium to pick-up your sticker. You may have one caregiver accompany you throughout RTX regardless of what badge type they have.

Can I bring in food and/or beverages to the Austin Convention Center?

FOOD: While ACC staff reserve the right to refuse entry to any outside food, we do not anticipate issues with small amounts of pre-packaged snacks such as granola bars or protein bars. This should also allow people with strict dietary restrictions to keep a small amount of appropriate food on hand, including those with medical conditions.

WATER: You may bring in an EMPTY water bottle. We encourage you to hydrate while waiting to get into the ACC, however, once you get to the front of the security line, you will be asked to either dump out the remaining water or drink it. Once inside, there will be water coolers/bubblers in every panel room and throughout the ACC.

Will I be able to purchase food and beverages inside the ACC?

Yes, there will be operating concession stands each day: 1) Built-in coffee stand between Exhibit Hall 4 & 5. 2) Cafe in the Solar Atrium. 3) Large Cafe in the Exhibit Hall. 4) Small Cafe Built-In outside Ballroom A.

What types of gifts ARE and ARE NOT allowed to bring to talent and RT staff?

We will not allow you to bring any open foods or beverages into the Austin Convention Center, this includes any alcohol. You also cannot bring any weapons, including Licensed to Carry. Additional prohibited items are illegal substances, weapons, firearms, explosives, flammables, knives, sharp objects, pepper spray, or mace. If you bring any items from the prohibited list (including food and beverages) it will be confiscated.

I am cosplaying and have a weapon as part of my cosplay. Where is Weapons Check located?

There will be two Weapons Check desks. One is located at Checkpoint 2 and the other at Checkpoint 3. Approved weapons will be tagged for the duration of the event.  If the tag is removed, you must revisit the Weapons Check desk each day for a new tag.

Will there be a parents lounge/rest area at RTX?

We love when parents come and support their children! We do not have a dedicated lounge/area for parents to hang out. If you wish to come, you must also purchase a badge for admittance. This is due to strict security measures to keep our community and staff safe.

Is there a Mother’s rooms available at the ACC?

Yes, there are two (2) Mother’s Rooms in the Austin Convention Center.  One is located on the first floor near Room 1 along Cesar Chavez St. The other is located on the third floor across from Room 10C.

Hey Noodles! I'm super excited to share with you ACTUAL REAL LIFE DETAILS ABOUT VICIOUS CIRCLE, you know- that super secret game Rooster Teeth has been working on?

Or perhaps it's SUCH a good secret you DON'T actually know anything about it yet >.>

Well let me remedy that. I'm very proud to finally be able to share some information about Vicious Circle with you and the rest of the English speaking world.

Vicious Circle is, what we like to call it, an uncooperative multiplayer shooter. It's a five man free-for-all featuring one player randomly spawning in as an alien abomination and four mercenaries fighting for loot and the sole chance to escape.

Gameplay is fast-paced and guaranteed to keep you on your toes until the last seconds of the match- and you'll want to take advantage of every corner, pickup, or hiding spot to turn the tides of the game in your favor.

If you haven't had a chance, please follow the Rooster Teeth Games Twitter for the first place information drops!

Check out our latest update here:

Can't wait to get uncooperative with you all later this year and at RTX <3

  • Rooster Teeth Partnership + Full Sail University 2019!

    Miles Miles

Hey, folks! Are you interested in animation? How about game development? PRODUCTION, YOU SAY? Welllll, I have some good news! Turns out we have some awesome things coming up with Full Sail University in the next few months and I wanted to give y’all a little update!

First up, we're excited to be heading out to Full Sail's 10th annual Hall of Fame Week. Our all-star recruiter Brooke will kick things off at their recruiting event on May 20, and then Jordan Cwierz (@Jordan), Chris Kokkinos (@ChrisKO), and I will be in attendance from May 22 - 23 for a Rooster Teeth panel, a livestream, a meet and greet event and checking out as many Hall of Fame events as we can. I'll also have the honor of giving a keynote speech on May 23, AND I’M DEFINITELY NOT NERVOUS ABOUT IT AT ALL.

You may not know this, but we have a lot of Full Sail alums on staff at Rooster Teeth, so it's kinda wild to think I may end up speaking to some future members of our team. We hope it's going to be a good time and we're excited to check out all of the other activities and panels going on, too!

After that undoubtedly awesome event, Full Sail will be bringing you an extra special episode of RTAA that discusses the animation process launching at RTX this year!

We’re also working with Full Sail to bring you some collaborative podcasts and livestreams on animation. First, we're teaming up for a series of RT Podcast segments with animators and Full Sail alums who will talk about the animation process with Gus. These episodes will air live on May 20, June 3, June 17, and July 8. Meanwhile, we'll also be hosting livestreams on the Rooster Teeth YouTube channel to talk about the whole animation process and answer questions from both our online community and Full Sail students in the classroom. The first of these livestreams will take place at Full Sail University during the Hall of Fame Week on May 22 at 4:00 p.m. CT, and then the rest will be at Rooster Teeth. We’ll keep you posted on specific details as those dates get closer.

And last but definitely not least, Full Sail will have a booth at this year’s RTX (July 5 – 7) and hosting three Introduction to Animation sessions that weekend plus hosting mini-workshops in their booth with our attendees and share more about what they offer through the university, both on campus and online. It’s the perfect opportunity for anyone considering this kind of career field to ask questions and learn more about the types of educational programs that are out there.

Soooo YEAH, there's lots of really great stuff happening with this partnership and we're excited to be teamed up with an institution that does so much to further the art of animation. We'd love to meet Rooster Teeth fans and Full Sail students at the events, but if you can't be there in person, be sure to check out the RT Podcast episodes and get your questions ready for the livestreams!

  • Fit4RTX Kickoff Today!

    Chelsea RT Community Manager

    Hey everyone!

RTX is just around the corner and with it, the biggest party of our Rooster Teeth friends and family! Whether you’re hanging out with us in-person in Austin or joining in the excitement with us online, we’ll all be celebrating soon.

To get ready for that, a lot of us here at Rooster Teeth are participating in a company-supported  Fit4RTX event. We’re doing group workouts and all in all trying to take on healthier and better habits moving towards a healthier life.

But, I’ve seen how many of you have participated in your own goals and challenges on social media, using #fit4rtx over the years. That’s awesome! Keep at it, I can’t wait to see what you all are trying to do.

To help or supplement what you already may be doing, @kriss and I have put together a 8-Week daily workout challenge. Each Monday I’ll post the week’s workout graphic both here on the RT Site and on the @RoosterTeeth Instagram story. (Please note that this challenge is meant to be FUN and offer you a starting point in crafting a weekly routine. You can totally do more or less than what the graphic suggests.)

So, what’s your goal? If you feel comfortable telling us, say so in the comments! My goal is to lose 10 pounds - I’m not one to actually work out EVER so I hope this is a start in the right direction. We’ll be back every Monday with a new graphic and updates!

    Lumenati Let's Play

Hello friends, it’s been a while since we’ve done one of these.

Let’s get right into it. I’m going to tell you about a handful of new partners that I’m happy to announce today.

Troy Baker & Nolan North are partnering with Rooster Teeth! The dulcet-toned duo launched their own take on the let’s play format last year. They’ve been friends of Rooster Teeth for some time, and I’m excited to officially welcome them to the community. You may have caught them recently on Always Open. Look out for their merch to launch in the RT Store soon and for more cameos in the future.

Check out their new Uncharted series! Yes, that’s right: Nathan Drake is playing Nathan Drake.

Hailing from beyond The Wall, give a big welcome to Woolie & Pat, lords of Castle Super Beast!  Check out the guys together on the Castle Super Beast podcast, or separately on their Twitch (Woolie/Pat) and YouTube (Woolie/Pat) channels. Let's ook back on their first collaboration with the Achievement Hunter crew:

If it wasn’t already obvious, a big welcome to Chilled, GaLm, and Tom to the family! We’ve loved having these guys over the Achievement Hunter office recently, and you can watch some great collabs here:

We’re excited to welcome these new faces to the family and hope you check out their channels, podcasts, and streams and lend them your support.

But the most exciting thing of all? Everyone I just mentioned is coming to RTX 2019!

That’s all I have for today. Thanks for reading and hope to see you all soon at RTX!

    ezracooperst President

    Dear friends,

Today I’m announcing that I’m stepping down as President of Rooster Teeth effective April 26th. Working at Rooster Teeth has been one of the highlights of my career. This company is so special and I am forever indebted to Matt and Burnie for giving me this opportunity.

When I became involved with Rooster Teeth the company was about 60 people; today it’s many multiples of that size. I am so proud of what we have built together. I wanted to thank the entire team from creative to support staff for making my time at Rooster Teeth such a fulfilling experience. You are all so talented and work so hard. You all truly inspire me and have become a family to me.

I also want to thank each and every one of you in the community. This community is something special and I feel so lucky to have been welcomed into it and supported by you all. You make Rooster Teeth stand out and provide the fuel that propels Rooster Teeth forward. You are all so passionate, creative and good. Don’t take this for granted; don’t take each other for granted.

Between Fullscreen and Rooster Teeth I’ve been running hard for almost 8 years. It’s now time for me to step back to spend some time with my other family. When I realized that my frequent flier balance was rivaling that of Burnie, Gav and Geoff it became clear that I needed some time to chill. As my wife always reminds me, these are precious years with our kids.

Finally, I wanted to thank Matt, Burnie, Geoff, Gus, Yvonne, George Strompolos, Jesse Jacobs and Peter Chernin, Andy Forssell & Tom Pickett. You guys are the best and have given me more than you know.

Thank you all for your patience with this transition. I know you all will stay focused on your goals and the opportunities that are opening up for Rooster Teeth. In the interim while we look for a replacement for my role, my direct reports will report to Matt.

I know it’s a cliche way to end this post but, Keep Moving Forward. There is so much goodness ahead.

    Very best,

  • Important Information Regarding the Xbox and Apple TV Apps

    Chelsea RT Community Manager

    Hi everyone,

We have some very important news for you regarding the Xbox and Apple TV apps.

First, there is a big update being released this Wednesday that will affect how the community can view livestreams on these devices.

Starting this week, all livestreams will now happen in a single place: RTTV. You can find the livestreams via a single URL ( on the desktop website or the Live aspect of our mobile apps on iOS and Android. Additionally, unlike the previous way we did livestreams, our new RTTV feed now supports Chromecast.

Unfortunately, because of this shift, RTTV is not compatible with our current Xbox and Apple TV apps. This means that the majority of all livestreams will no longer be able to be viewed on these platforms. You WILL still be able to log into your account on those platforms and all VOD (videos on demand) videos will still be available to watch.

Secondly, we are discontinuing active support for the Xbox and Apple TV apps. That means that there will be no more patches, updates, or temporary fixes to them. These apps were built on a  previous iteration of, making updates and enhancements not possible.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns in the comment section. We’ll answer them to the best of our abilities.

    Thank you,

TL;DR - We’ve got flight deals with oneworld alliance for RTX 2019!

Hey everyone. It’s your resident community member turned events coordinator, George, with another RTX update.

I’m excited to announce that oneworld alliance and Rooster Teeth have partnered to provide discounted airfare to RTX via participating carriers.

One of the things we’ve heard from you is the desire for flight deals in addition to the hotel deals we provide. Although we have announced this already, I wanted to make sure there was a dedicated place for information. Here’s what you need to know to get in the air and en route to Austin.

    What is the oneworld alliance?

oneworld is an airline alliance (group of airlines that work together to better facilitate air travel among their brands) made up of 13 global airlines. The carries who have agreed to help us out are:

    • American Airlines

    • British Airways

    • Cathay Pacific Airways Limited

    • Finnair

    • Iberia Airlines

    • Japan Airlines

    • LATAM Airlines Group S.A.

    • Malaysia Airlines

    • Qantas Airways Limited

    • Qatar Airways Company, Q.C.S.C

    • Royal Jordanian Airlines

    • Sri Lankan Airlines

How much is the discount and how do I get it?

Discounts range between 5%-25% and can only be accessed through the booking portal using the code OW25A19. While you can do multiple transactions, you can only purchase a maximum of 2 tickets per transaction.

Discount percentages are applicable to fares in the main cabin or higher. In other words, anything above the basic economy is eligible for a discount. The booking portal won’t show any basic economy options so anything you see will be an eligible discounted fare.

The exact discount amount depends on the fare, originating location, and selected airline. All of these options can be changed during booking.

What about people whose preferred airline isn’t listed?

If you have an airline you like that’s outside the oneworld alliance, that’s okay. We, unfortunately, don’t have deals for outside carriers, but we encourage you to do what’s best for you. Whether you’d prefer to fly basic fares, budget airlines, or a separate major carrier entirely, we understand. This is simply another, potentially cheaper option.

What if we already purchased our flight?

If you already purchased your flight, good for you! You’re ahead of the game and probably got a reasonably priced flight regardless. These discounts cannot be retroactively added.

We understand flights, just like hotels can be a prohibiting factor in a lot of people’s plans for RTX. That’s why we work hard to build partnerships and cultivate deals to help alleviate some of that financial strain. The more the deals are used, the better we can understand and improve in the future. We encourage you to do more research and do what’s best for you, but don’t forget that there are things in place to help if you need it.

    So, quick recap:

    Portal -

    Event Code - OW25A19

    Discount Rate - 5%-25%

Ticket Quantity - Maximum 2 per transaction

    Until next time, cheers!

It feels like just yesterday I was drafting my first journal post to talk about taking over Red vs. Blue from sentient-sugar-high Miles Luna. Now with a mix of strange emotions, I find myself passing the torch on to the next generation.

The upcoming season of Red vs. Blue - Singularity - which will explode brains and melt faces starting SATURDAY, is brought to you by a brand new creative team.  Well, not brand new. Everyone involved has extensive experience with the series, but by “brand new” I mean not me.

Writer Jason Weight (@JasonWeight) and Directors Austin Clark (@aclarkislost) and Josh Ornelas (@Josho) have taken over the storytelling of Red vs Blue.

This announcement of the changing of the guard is more than a little overdue, so to really understand it let’s travel back in time to last summer.

Around the time Elon Musk was calling the British cave diver who saved those kids “a pedo," Rooster Teeth had some meetings to try and figure out how we were going to staff up some new upcoming projects. I got tapped to take the lead on one of them, which means my responsibilities on Team Red had to be passed on (sorry Sarge). I can’t really say anything about the new thing other than it’s not Red vs. Blue related.

Obviously, it sucks to leave a series hanging from a cliff in Blood Gulch. But my departure from the show is made much easier with the knowledge that those replacing me are brilliant and incredibly passionate. The series is in great hands.

    Whose hands, you ask?

The delectable Jason Weight has thrown his… mass... behind writing this season’s 12 episodes. He’s finishing the story I started with Season 16. As my co-writer last season, I was blown away by Jason’s insane talents for writing jokes and dialogue, so you can expect the series to be as witty and clever as ever.

In order to ease the transition, Jason, Miles, and I sat around for a week and brainstormed the rough outline for the season. What we came up with is an awesomely satisfying conclusion to the Shisno Paradox, something well beyond my original idea for Season 17. This upcoming season is honestly unlike anything I have ever seen before and I can’t fucking wait to watch it along with y’all.

Bringing that vision to life are two gentlemen who are no strangers to Red vs. Blue. Josh Ornelas and Austin Clark have a combined decade of experience turning video games into stories.

Josh has been working on RvB since Season 12. I came to rely on him as a creative ace on the last two seasons. Austin Clark has shown awesome talent through his work on the series and the off-season PSAs. Both know how to nail jokes and get the most out of Halo 5.

Jason, Austin, and Josh will all be making journal posts to talk about this change today. Those posts will be spread randomly throughout the day for no reason whatsoever.

And so as my watch ends, I join the rest of you as a Red vs. Blue fan once again.

Lastly, sorry not sorry for all the movie references.

So long and thanks for all the fish,

    Joe (Jax) Nicolosi

  • RTX Community Corner and Community Panels are back, baby!

    kriss Community Manager

    Hello community!

Very hyped to let you know that RTX Community Panel and Community Corner Submissions are now live. Sign ups will close March 29, 2019 at 11:59pm CT.

Before you apply for either or both, we would like to offer panel best practices and a short Community Corner FAQ in case you may have any questions.

    Community Panel Best Practices:

towerPresentations are very helpful in helping you keep track of your discussions, but do not read them word for word. Add your personality and additional thoughts to those bullet points! Your presentation serves as your guideline, not as the panel itself.

towerKeep the number of panelists around 4-5 people. You only get one hour to cover the topic(s) you want to address, offer your own expertise and insight, and engage your audience with a Q&A.

towerIdeal panelists will have solid knowledge of the topics they’re covering, have good chemistry with one another, and are comfortable speaking in front of a crowd.

towerModerators are highly recommended. They keep the conversation going, on topic, and are cognizant of how much time a question or a topic is taking up.

towerRemember that you are speaking to an audience that may be curious about who you are and what you’re about, so be as open and welcoming as possible. People in the crowd may not understand inside jokes or specific references like “that one thing that happened a year ago”.

towerKeep the interactions with the audience to a minimum or until the Q&A. Unless you specifically set up your panel to accept questions during the panel, you and your panelists should be driving the conversations.

towerLast but certainly not least, when you apply to submit your panel idea, please take your time. Give us a general but solid understanding of what you are bringing to RTX and to the community.

SUBMIT YOUR PANEL IDEAS HERE -- Application will close March 29, 2019 at 11:59pm CT.

    What is Community Corner?

If you are of a creative mind, we would love to showcase your work at RTX! Community Corner is a piece of the expo floor that is dedicated to the talented artists in the RT Community. Chosen artists will get one hour to show off their art and network with fellow community members.

    What artwork is accepted?

All types! The more variety, the better. We have accepted cosplayers, digital and illustration artists, those who are masters of various crafts including airbrushed clothing, storytellers, and much more.

    How does set up work?

You are responsible for your own space. You will be given extra time outside of your one hour to accommodate for set up and tear down.

Will Guardians assist with crowd control/line management?

Yes! A Guardian will be present to assist with crowd control.

Want to apply for Community Corner?

SUBMIT A COMMUNITY CORNER APPLICATION HERE -- Application will close March 29, 2019 at 11:59pm CT.

For a better idea of what to expect from the space itself, here are a couple of photos from the community corner last year featuring @gammakoruchador and @_daks_!

We look forward to all of the panel and community corner submissions! RTX HYYYYYYYYPE!

  • Rooster Teeth Events in 2019 and RTX London News

    gus Elite Staff

I’m back. That’s right - with our beloved Bethany moving on to the next chapter in her life (she’s dead to me), I’m jumping back in to help our awesome events team however I can as they prepare for Live from Austin and RTX Austin. I’m sure my mere presence will inspire them to new levels of greatness. Don’t get me wrong, they’re a great bunch, but who couldn’t benefit from some more Gus in their lives?  That’s the good news. Sadly, I also have some not so great news - we will not be putting on RTX London this year.

Believe me, this was a difficult decision for all of us. The London show was a ton of fun, but it just did not experience the growth we needed for us to commit to it as a long term event, so we’ve decided to take a break and figure out new ways to take Rooster Teeth to our communities around the world. Our focus is to make more amazing content than ever before, and make RTX Austin the best show it can be for everyone attending.

We would love for everyone who can to come hang out with us at RTX Austin this year. In an effort to make this easier for our community members in the UK and EU we are working with our partners and putting a few promotions in place.

    • We’re offering a 15% discount on Weekend and Single Day badges if you live in the UK or any European nation. To get your discount please contact RTX Customer Support at and you will be given a 15% discount code applicable to Weekend and Single Day badges. We won’t be able to ship badges internationally so they will need to be picked up at Will Call during RTX Austin, and you MUST have a valid photo ID and proof of residence to pick up your order.

    • If you already purchased a badge at the Regular rates (Weekend $116 or Single Day $50-$55) and you are a resident of the UK or any European nation, you are eligible for the 15% discount. To get your partial refund please contact RTX Customer Support at They will document your order number, name, and address to issue a partial refund for the difference of the 15% discount rate. If you purchased at the Early Bird rates (Weekend $99 or Single Day $42.50-$47), please note that this rate is already a 15% discount and we will not issue a partial refund on such orders.

    • Discounts are not applicable to all higher tier badges (Ultra, Platinum, Plus) because they sold out at the Early Bird rates.

    • Oneworld Alliance and Rooster Teeth have partnered to provide discounted airfare to RTX via participating carriers. The promotion applies to flights that occur between July 1, 2019 and July 14, 2019, and must be booked through the attendee portal at You must use the event code OW25A19. Discount percentages are applicable to fares in the main cabin or higher between 5%-25%. The discount amount depends on the fare, originating location, and selected airline.

    • We currently have hotel discounts in place at the Fairmont Austin and JW Marriott.

    Donnie_S Email Marketing Manager

    Hi everyone!

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and fill you in on some exciting updates and changes to your Rooster Teeth experience. You may recognize me from your favorite RT Store ads like this one, but my full-time position is Email Marketing Manager. It’s my job to make sure you receive timely and relevant emails and push notifications about the content and merch you love to see from Rooster Teeth.

For a while now, our Marketing and Engineering teams have been working on improving this experience to ensure that you can control exactly which types of notifications you see from us and how often you see them. We’ve gotten a lot of feedback from the community, and yes, had a few setbacks along the way, but we’re very excited about the work we’ve done and think you will be too. The improvements to our website and apps have resulted in us creating a brand new preference and notification center tailored just for you.

To find these new features, you can click this link or sign into the RT site and click on your profile in the upper right corner, then click “Settings.” Once you’re on your settings page, you can click the “Notifications” tab to view your specific preferences. At the top, you will see three different ways you can get notifications from us: Email, App, and Web.

Below this, you have five notification categories set up for you: Stuff I Like, Content, Community, Store, and Other.

Clicking into each of these five categories will show you a range of options to select or deselect based on the category. You can also select how you want to see these communications WITHIN each category (e.g., clicking the “Stuff I Like” category tab, checking the Achievement Hunter box, and then also selecting the “Email” icon within this category).

There are too many different combinations of preferences to list here, so I encourage you to visit your own profile and see for yourself!

Again, our goal with this new feature is to make sure you get notified about the specific things you like and have more control over how and when you see these notifications.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our Community Support team at

Effective today, Vic Mignogna is no longer a part of the cast of RWBY and Rooster Teeth is ending all associations with Mignogna. This will not affect the creative content of RWBY.

    yvonne COO

    Hi all,

This is a difficult post for me to make.  Today, I am retiring.

The first person to retire from Rooster Teeth.  Yes, I am that old. Yes, you all kept me young. But now it is time for me to move on to the next chapter in my life.

I have been connected with Rooster Teeth for over 12 years now, it has been a wonderful, joyful and fun adventure.  I remember the first time I met @burnie in the Buda office, how when going to the Congress office @Joel was the easiest one to talk to.  This is difficult to admit, but since I'm moving on, I'll share with you all; I couldn't tell @gus and @geoff apart for about a year and a half.  Now I don't know how that was possible.

I am going to miss everyone here at Rooster Teeth.  And I am going to miss you - The Community - just as much.  As COO of the company many people have asked me if the executive team at Rooster Teeth really values the community, to which I reply "Absolutely Fucking YES!"  You matter so fucking much.  You supported the company from the first day.  You made it possible for us to make the awesome content that we and you LOVE.  We aren't kidding when we say <3.

I've worked in many different companies over the years and I have to give kudos to the finest, most inclusive, caring company I have ever been associated with.  I love this place, the creativity that is evident wherever I turn.  The passions that each and every one member of our staff has, that passion that allows us to make something so special and then being able to share it with you.  The ability for anyone, color, race, gender to succeed. I was the First women executive, but I will not be the last.

I've seen a lot of people come and go at Rooster Teeth, Hell, I hired a big part of them, and now it is my time to go.  My plans include long trips with my husband and dogs, with a goal to visit every National Park in the U.S.  I'm investing in and supporting my step-daughters in their new business venture ( - check it out - yes, a shameless plug), and sitting by the fire in the rocking chair that Burnie gave me reading good (and not so good) romance novels.  Yep, that's what I'm going to do.  And make mosaics - and maybe learn to cook, and plant my roses and find the time to smell  them.  Yep, that's what I'm going to do.  Anything I want to, when I want to. That is my retirement and I can't wait to get started.

This is the hardest thing I've had to do in a long time, but it is time for me to move on and allow the next generation to pick up the slack - Fight for Women's Rights, Fight for the right to be who you are, Stay strong in your beliefs, Don't be a bully, and Pick up after your dog.

    I'll miss you all.

    Chelsea RT Community Manager

    Hi all!

We hope you’re enjoying 2019 as much as we are. Already this year we saw the finale of another amazing volume of RWBY, the start of our brand new series gen:LOCK, and announced a whole bunch of cool programming that is coming real soon. Speaking of gen:LOCK...

For those of you who have been asking or seeing the comments out there, we would like to confirm that gen:LOCK is unavailable in Japan and China. To better communicate this on our platform, if you are in either of those territories and you go to watch gen:LOCK you will now see the following message instead of a black screen:

We thank you for the feedback you have provided and the support you continue to give us. We’ll be sure to roll out more news about gen:LOCK as it becomes available.

    Hello community!

I know this update is a long time coming that many of you have been waiting for, myself included.

We are NOW, OFFICIALLY in an internal beta for the new community site! This is a HUGE milestone for us, and all of us are excited for this achievement. Right now, we are going through the new platform with the goal to work with our amazing Engineering team, to figure out what works well (or...not so well), improve all sorts of aspects, and ultimately create a fantastic experience for you when the community site is able to go public.

We know you have been waiting for updates on the new site (some of you curious if it was even on our radar) and we want you to know that it has been, it is, and it will be because this is a huge priority for us.

For future updates and other news, myself, Chelsea, or Barbara will be making those announcements when we can.

That said, below is a sneak peek of the internal beta. Can't wait to show you more!

*SPECIAL NOTE* Please keep in mind that this is not a finalized version of the community site.

  • Movie Club: Stardust

    Ashley The Know

This week on Club Club we're watching Stardust! It's a 2007 movie based on the book by Neil Gaiman and we can't wait to talk about it. If you want to watch before this weekend, it's currently streaming on Netflix (in the US, at least... not sure about other regions. Sorry!), but it's also available to rent on YouTube/Google Play, Amazon, and iTunes.

We want to include your thoughts in the show!

You can suggest a "Movie Club" style question about the themes of the movie we should discuss.

You can also leave us a comment about something in the movie that surprised you, a moment you particularly enjoyed, etc. and we'll shout out some of your thoughts in the episode. OR you can tweet us your thoughts using the hashtag #ClubClub.
