  • All Game Attack Sub Revenue in August Is Going To Extra Life

    Hello RT community!!!

Today we're SUPER pumped to announce that ALL subscriber revenue Game Attack earns from Twitch in the month of August will be donated to Extra Life this year! We see this as an opportunity to raise some money for a great cause. In addition, we're going to match all Tier 1, 2 & 3 sub revenue up to $2,500. That means if we have $1,000 in sub revenue and $250 comes from Tier 1, 2 & 3 subs on Twitch, we'll make a total donation of $1,250.

Extra Life is a BIG deal for RT every year. Since no other brands at Rooster Teeth or Let's Play aside from Kinda Funny stream on Twitch, this is an awesome chance for the RT community to come together & use their free Twitch Prime subs to go to a great cause.

Why are we announcing this two weeks before August? Because Like all things Game Attack - this has to be a grassroots campaign to spread the word about this opportunity to give big to Extra Life! We're asking for your help to hit up the RT community pages and even other brands - on Reddit, Twitter, on Facebook, and on!

If you'd like to support you can sub to GA on Twitch ( and hopefully we can raise some serious money for the kiddos.

    Let's have a great August!

  • RTX Austin 2018 - Security Plan **IMPORTANT INFORMATION**

    Bethany Head of RT Events

    Hi RTX Austin 2018 Attendees,

We are very excited to see you at RTX Austin 2018! We know this will be another great year together and we have a lot of fun activities in store.

The most important part of RTX is always safety. We want to ensure that all of our attendees, guardians, special guests, exhibitors, and staff are safe at all times. We have implemented a new security plan for RTX weekend, so please read everything to ensure you understand what is expected.

There are four (4) security checkpoints at RTX and all checkpoints will accept all badge types. There are 2 different lines at each checkpoint; the Fast Pass line is denoted on the attached map with a Pink triangle and the Regular line is denoted on the attached map with a Green triangle. When you arrive at RTX, look for a pink flag at each checkpoint to enter the Fast Pass Line, or look for a green flag at each checkpoint to enter the Regular Line. Guardians will be on hand to assist you with finding the proper line for your badge type.

erWeCBb.pngFAST PASS LINE - Platinum badge holders

p0Efowf.png REGULAR LINE - Weekend PLUS / Weekend / Daily badge holders

*Anyone requiring ADA access can use the erWeCBb.pngFAST PASS LINE, along with their caregiver, no matter what type of badge you have.

*All Security Checkpoints will be staffed with Licensed Police Officers, walk-through metal detectors, bag checkers, and wanders.

Please reference the below security map for checkpoint locations and operating hours.  Please note, for evening events (Let’s Play Live, Theater Mode Live, or On The Spot Live panel) there is a specific checkpoint you must use to enter the convention center per the specific evening operating hours (please reference the attached map for evening operating hours).

    DO’S & DON’TS

    • Do wear your badge visibly at all times. You cannot get into RTX without it. Lose your badge? Sorry, but RTX will not replace it. Treat it like cash.

    • Do listen to the Guardians to ensure you are in the correct line. Pink Fast Pass or Green Regular line - it’s that simple!

    • Do prepare your belongings as you approach the walk-through metal detectors so that you can get through security as quickly as possible.

    • Don’t bring any weapons. RTX is an all-weapons-free event. This means both illegal weapons and licensed to carry weapons are prohibited at all times. BUT - If you have a cosplay weapon, you must visit the Weapons Check station across from Registration in the Solar Atrium of the ACC to get it approved.

    • Don’t try to cut the lines as you will be asked to leave.

    • Don’t bring large bags as these will cause longer waits.

    1.    Where do I pick-up my attendee bag? *Two answers: 1) If you are picking up your bag on Thursday, enter one of the security checkpoints and go to Exhibit Hall 2 to pick-up your bag 9:45 AM - 5:30 PM. 2) If you are picking up your bag on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, enter one of the security checkpoints and go to Registration located in the Solar Atrium to pick-up your bag.

    2.    If I need to pick-up my badge onsite, what do I do? *You will need to go to one of the security checkpoints and show your confirmation email (either printed or electronically) and a valid photo I.D. You must show both the confirmation email AND valid photo I.D to clear the checkpoint.  You can get your badge at Registration located in the Solar Atrium.

    3.    I have a medical disability. Where should I go for my medical sticker? *Please use the Fast Pass (pink) line at any of the 4 security checkpoints and go to Registration in the Solar Atrium to pick-up your sticker. You may have one caregiver accompany you throughout RTX regardless of what badge type they have.

    4.    If I leave the Austin Convention Center for lunch, or to attend a panel at another hotel, will I have to go back through security to enter? Yes, everyone entering the ACC will have to go through the security checkpoint.

    5.    How long will the wait times be each morning? While we cannot give you an exact expected wait time, we highly encourage you to not bring large bags (bigger than 12”x12”) when possible and to be prepared as you get to the front of the security checkpoint. We also recommend you check out the Animation Festival at the JW Marriott for early morning panels and then head to the Austin Convention Center mid-day.

    6.    Can I bring in food and/or beverages to the Austin Convention Center? No, you are not allowed to bring in any food or beverages. You may bring in an empty water bottle though, and may fill up at any of the water dispensers inside the ACC.

    7.    What will the security check entail once I get to the front of the line? Once you arrive at the metal detectors, you will be asked to remove your bags/purses/etc. and remove everything from your pockets. A bag checker will inspect your bags and you will be asked to walk through the metal detector. Once you have been cleared, you may retrieve your items. If the metal detector is alarmed, a wander will provide a second search of yourself and belongings.

    8.    Why is RTX adding so much security this year? The most important part of RTX is always safety. We want to ensure that all of our attendees, Guardians, special guests, exhibitors, and staff are safe at all times. Please be respectful to all security, Guardians, and RTX Staff as we are here to help you have a fun and safe weekend.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

  • Fans, prepare to get Serviced!

WE'RE BACK, BABY-CHAN! Fan Service is returning! Me, Kerry, Miles, Yssa, Cole, Austin, Erin, really anyone who's worked on the show -- you know how much we loved catching up with you on all things anime. And whether online or in person at shows such as Anime Expo, CRX, or RTX, we also appreciated getting to hear from so many of you, about how much you've missed Fan Service since it went off the air. And Rooster Teeth listened… but they weren’t the only ones!

What we discovered last time around was even though people that watched the show really loved it, there just weren’t quite enough otaku on our site alone to keep it going. We aren’t able to produce it regularly without additional support. So how is it coming back? Turns out our good friends at a certain sister company, Crunchyroll (!!), really loved Fan Service, too - and they would like to sponsor its return! And so, the next season of Fan Service will kick off this July 21 (SO SOON) with your favorite cast of anime nerds, debuting on Crunchyroll. Yes, it will also eventually make its way to Rooster Teeth, and we’ll have more details on that shortly. We’re so excited to geek out with you again, starting July 21!

But chotto matte - that’s not all! There will be a Fan Service panel at RTX! Saturday 5pm in the Congressional Ballroom at the Fairmont! Get your weeb on, live and in person!

    Ja nei!!

  • Community Events with Sidequest

    kriss Community Manager

Looking for some community events to attend during RTX weekend? I highly encourage you to check out the events hosted by Sidequest! If you are unfamiliar with Sidequest, that's okay! Here's a brief snapshot about them!

"Originally born from the Rooster Teeth fan community, we are perhaps best known for our SideQuest Community Weekend (formerly called RTX SideQuest), a series of meetups and parties held before, during, and after RTX in Austin, TX. Since the first RTX in 2011, SideQuest has organized safe, inclusive, unforgettable events for community members to connect with one another outside the hustle and bustle of the RTX convention."

Now on to the even better stuff! What events can expect from Sidequest this year?

    • SideQuest Charity Gala (Thursday, August 2nd)
Time to play dress-up, hang out with your pinkies out, and bid on one-of-a-kind artwork, beautifully designed props, and other great items donated from throughout the RT community. All auction proceeds benefit SideQuest’s partner charities, including Child’s Play, AbleGamers, and Operation Supply Drop. This year we’re hosting the event at The Line Hotel in downtown Austin, just a short walk from the Austin Convention Center and other downtown hotels.

**Special note about the charity gala. If you're the creative and artistic type, Sidequest is still accepting unique items to be auctioned off at the gala. If you would like to send in something, fill out this form! For ideas on what was submitted in the past, feel free to check out this album.

    • SideQuest Barlympics (Saturday, August 4th)
Come party with us to Buffalo Billiards on Austin’s iconic Sixth Street. Have a round or three in the company of your SideQuest family, because we’ve reserved the entire upstairs space of Buffalo Billiards for this event. And when you’re done being cordial, throw down against other community members in a variety of games. Rack up points for your team and compete for glory. Will your squad have the honor of hoisting the SideQuest Cup at the end of the night? (NOTE: This event is only for guests 18 and up.)

    • SideQuest Lounge and RTX Wrap-Up Party (Sunday, August 5th)
Come on back to Buffalo Billiards and cap off your RTX weekend with one last night of fun. You can even bring along your RTX friends who don’t have SideQuest tickets, because we’ve locked down the entire venue for an RTX-attendees only party! An RTX badge is all you need to get in on the bottom level, but a SideQuest ticket is still required to access the SideQuest Lounge upstairs. (NOTE: This event is only for guests 18 and up.)

You can buy your tickets here! AND Sidequest is offering y'all a 10% off discount code! When you purchase your tickets, don't forget to use RTSideQuest10 when checking out!

I hope to see you at one or all of these events! I have to figure out what I'm going to wear for the gala now.

  • News from Anime Expo

    Hey guys.

So we just got done with our panel at Anime Expo and it was insane. SO MUCH BIG NEWS. Let’s start with a project I’m thrilled to share more news on - gen:LOCK! Now we’ve already told you about this guy, but, oh, there’s so much more.

Today we announced some amazing new cast members including esteemed voice talent Kōichi Yamadera as Kazu Iida, a gL recruit from Japan. Yamadera-san has been in a couple tiny shows like Batman Ninja, Cowboy Bebop, and Ghost in the Shell, y’know, so maybe you've heard of him.

We’re also thrilled to announced that Dakota Fanning is joining our cast as Miranda Worth, an expert pilot and someone who is very close to Chase. Yes, THAT Dakota Fanning from The Alienist, The Twilight Saga, and so much more.

We also revealed our first supporting cast member, with Monica Rial (Dragon Ball Z, RWBY) playing the part of Colonel Raquel Marin — yes, it’s her voice you’ve already heard in the virtual call in the gen:LOCK teaser! As excited as I am about how this cast is shaping up, we have so much more yet to reveal. So maybe you should stop by RTX Austin, check out our big RT Animation panel and see what other names we might drop, along with the latest gen:LOCK teaser that we’re working on. It’s going to be a giant party.

We’re also excited to announce the launch of a website for the new mobile game, RWBY: Amity Arena! CRWBY has been playing an early prototype of the game around the offices and we’re all absolutely addicted to the gameplay. If you haven’t yet heard of RWBY: Amity Arena, it’s a new strategic duel game from the renowned developer of Crusaders Quest, NHN Entertainment. If commanding RWBY characters in a real-time, high-energy strategic duel against friends or competitors across the world sounds fun to you, check out videos, photos, and more info about RWBY: Amity Arena here:

And if you’ve been enjoying the English translations of the RWBY anthology manga from Viz, the next one is Weiss, arriving in August!

Thanks everyone and can’t wait to see you in only 27 days at RTX Austin! ...wait only 27 days?! Guess we gotta get back to work on all the cool stuff we want to share!! See ya in Austin soon!

  • RWBY: Chibi Returns for the Summer of Animation

So how’s that Saturday morning cartoon cereal?  Is it ready? Because RWBY: Chibi is back! And oh boy, what are the Chibis going to get into this time?  Well, there’s an old friend (or should I say friends) visiting Weiss at Beacon who’s going to finally meet the team.  It’s Klein! Butler-extraordinaire, bearing gifts of tea, tea cakes, and a whole lot of fancy-pants class. But Klein is no ordinary butler as we’ll see.  Let’s just say he’s bursting with personality!

I’m sure you guys have noticed our snazzy new site!  Rooster Teeth has been working hard putting together a new streaming viewer experience for the fans, and we hope you like it.  Also changing is the way we’ll be premiering our new episodes of RWBY: Chibi. It’ll go like this! Each week, a new episode will premiere that will be exclusively available to our First Member subscribers.  After a week, that episode will be available for everyone to watch for free on the Rooster Teeth site. We’ll still have all the previous episodes on YouTube, but our new episodes will only be available through Rooster Teeth, so please support our site!  We love sharing our silly wee show with you, and hope you continue to join us for all the goofs and gags with Ruby and her friends.

This will all be kicking off TOMORROW on JUNE 30th!  It’s the Summer of Animation and team RWBY is getting in there!  And if tomorrow is too long to wait, you can join us for the RWBY CHIBI Marathon kicking off tonight at 6:00 PM CDT.  Be sure to check out the chats too as some of the CRWBY (including myself) will be popping in there to hang out and talk all things Chibi.

  • Website and App Updates

Hey everyone! We have a few new site and app updates for you to check out!

First up, I'm happy to announce that you are now able to stay in fullscreen mode while binging videos, rather than having to re-select the fullscreen option each time a new video loads! We split your watchlist into tabs to make it easier to find the episodes AND series that you follow. You’ll also see that sort and filter options on the series page have been broken out into separate dropdown menus. That should make things a little less confusing and improve the experience.

Secondly, in the RT mobile app iOS and Android, you can now check out the all new app settings page. We’ve added in a color picker and video quality options so you can tailor to your streaming and customization needs! We've also made some performance improvements, so be sure to download the latest update and let us know what you think.

Lastly, we’ve implemented some new mod features for chat including user time outs. This is an admin-only feature but one we hope will keep the RT chats some of the best on the web!

If you haven’t stopped by in a while, be sure to head to to see what’s new on the site and download the mobile app so you never miss an RT beat!

Stay tuned for more rad changes coming soon!

  • gen:LOCK update!

Hi you! Got an update for you about gen:LOCK!  You did catch that first little announcement about casting the other week, right? There's more where that came from, so be on the lookout for more casting news and character reveals this summer.

Let's talk release schedule. Rooster Teeth has a lllloooootttttt of cool stuff that they are trying to balance over the next months (and years). Taking all that into account, the company has decided to start 2019 with a bang - and opening the year with gen:LOCK is the best way to do it. Thus, gL now has a release target of January 2019. We're still kicking around some fun ideas about how we might get some genlockiness into the world before 2018 is out, though.

The production is going amazingly well, and we can't wait to show you what we've been up to. I couldn't be prouder of the crew and everything they've been pouring themselves into. Some of you have had questions about how production of gL impacts RWBY or vice-versa, and the answer is that these are largely parallel productions with separate crews. Rooster Teeth Animation has been growing like crazy (keep an eye on the RT careers page if you feel like throwing your hat in the ring), and each show that RTanim makes is getting the focused attention it deserves. It does mean that some members of CRWBY are moving up, taking on new positions around the department as we continue to build. So keep an eye out for crewfolk announcing their new roles, and please show them all the love they deserve.

Lastly please enjoy the new motion poster announcing gL's date, as well as these little BTS snapshots I've been taking! I'll continue sharing this sort of stuff as we go.

    More soon,

  • Pilot month: The Results Are In!

    ebregman Programming

We hope you all enjoyed Pilot Month! It was great to show the community what we’ve been working on and even better that you guys responded so well to everything. I’m happy to say all of the pilots are proceeding on to next steps! Here are the details:

    • BRANDED - This one is clearly a fan favorite. The goal was to make a half-hour comedy that captured the spirit and tone of the old RT Office Shorts, and it looks like Marshall and the team nailed it. Branded will be coming back with a full first season, seven additional episodes to make season one a total of eight episodes (including the pilot). All episodes will be available exclusively for FIRST members, with a few of the bits from each also making their way to YouTube, Facebook, and elsewhere.

    • GORQ’S QUEST - Easily one of the most talked-about pilots, there is a lot here to work with and a ton of potential for this series. We’re making some tweaks to the format and to the GORQ character, among a few other things, and we’ll release an additional four episodes that will be free to watch for everyone.

    • ACHIEVEMENT HAUNTER - Yeah, I guess we’ll make more of these. Eight more episodes coming soon, exclusively for FIRST members.

    • MDB: ANIMATED - This pilot episode will be released soon on Facebook, as a next step in our test. Because of its runtime and the creative being based on a pre-existing property, it performed well but understandably you guys felt the audience for this was likely broader than FIRST members. We think this is a show you’ll be eager to share with your followers on various social platforms such as Reddit, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, and after the public test I expect we’ll make a few more.

    • RT’S MURDER ROOM - Did you choose the right person? We had so much fun testing this series and knew it was going to be a favorite. If you’re wondering what goes into making this show, we posted an audio-only post-show episode today. We learned a lot from this pilot that we want to continue to experiment with. Because of that, before we jump in and make a lot more of these we’re going to make four more episodes and release them free to watch for everyone.

Congrats to everyone who worked so hard on these shows! As a whole, Pilot Month was a really cool way to introduce everyone to new content, our new app, and have a fun event for the whole community to gather around. We see this pilot event as a key step in our content development process. It gave us a chance to get our feet wet with some new shows, learn what it might take to make them into series, and include you in the process. Thanks as always for being supportive as we experiment! And if you have additional feedback about the Pilot Month process, please tell us in the comments!

  • Attention: International RT Box Members!

    Chelsea RT Community Manager

    Hi everyone!

When we launched the RT Box a few months ago, one of the most exciting things that we were able to tell our community members outside of the United States was that we were working to roll customs into the cost of the box and shipping.

As many of you have now experienced, this didn’t work out quite like we wanted, and you were hit with additional fees that you were not expecting.
While we work to fix this for future RT Boxes, we do want to offer refunds (in current USD) corresponding to the amount that you were issued to pay to receive your boxes. To be eligible for a refund, you just need to email us at with a copy of the invoice you had to pay.

We’re really sorry for the inconvenience and confusion, and we’ll let you know just as soon as we nail down a solution for future boxes. In the meantime let us know if you have any other questions.

    Much love,

    <3 Chelsea

  • Do you want to upgrade your RTX Austin badge to a Platinum or Weekend Plus badge?

    Chelsea RT Community Manager

    Hi everyone!

Why, yes! You've been asking since we announced more Platinum and Weekend Plus badges are going on sale and we've got that answer.

    Upgrades are allowed!

To do so, you will have to contact Front Gate directly - call them. It'll be the quickest and easiest process to do so. This is how you can do it:

    1. For a badge upgrade contact Front Gate's CS Support Line at +1 888-512-7469 beginning at 10:00 a.m. CDT June 20.
    2. The CS team will verify in real time the previous order
    3. Next they will process a charge for the upgraded badge type’s FULL amount
    4. Then they will issue a refund for the original order

*Note: Badge upgrades are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Badges sell out quickly, so make sure you hop on the phone ASAP.

    What CAN you upgrade?

There is NO limit on what tier someone wants to upgrade to. For example, a Single day can upgrade to Weekend PLUS. Or a Weekend PLUS can upgrade to Platinum.

    What CAN'T you upgrade?

You cannot combine multiple tickets to get something of greater value. For example, if you had four weekend badges and wanted to "combine" them to get a Platinum badge - nope, can't do that!

Reminder, additional Platinum and Weekend Plus badges will be available starting June 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. CDT.

Do you have any questions? Drop them here and we'll help out!

  • E3 Content ID Claims are being released right now

    ebregman Programming

We caused a stir today when channels uploading their E3 coverage to YouTube were having their videos claimed by our CMS. It took us a few hours to identify what was happening, but as of this post all claims are in the process of being released, and all should be back to status quo in the next few hours.

If your video was monetized by us during this time, you will receive all the ad revenue. As long as we release the claim within 5 days, all revenue goes to the user.

Sincere apologies. This was an innocent mistake that happened by someone clicking the wrong check box, and we're very happy it was brought to our attention quickly so we could solve it. It was caused by a few E3-related videos in our network inadvertently being activated as Content ID references.

This is probably a good time for me to surface RT's Content Usage Guidelines. If you ever feel we have claimed your YouTube video in error, your first step is to dispute the claim on YouTube.

    Sorry again!

Another month passes, another update for our tag team project with Full Sail University is upon us. Up until now we’ve only seen the game students working on the project, but this month, when you tune into the stream, we’ll be with students from the music program who are responsible for creating all the sound effects in the game. I hear we’ll get to do a little foley work, too, which is crazy exciting. If you’re not sure what “foley” is, think back to nearly any movie or game you’ve seen; maybe you’ve heard bones break or squishy noises. We’ll get to make those by breaking celery and pounding oranges and I couldn’t be more ready!

Tune in LIVE on Thursday, June 7th at 2 PM ET/1 PM CT at to see and HEAR the latest.

  • FIRST is Moving to a 7-Day Free Trial - What Does It Mean To You?

    Chelsea RT Community Manager

    Hey everyone!

As the subject line reads, our free trial for a FIRST membership is changing from 30 days to 7 days. We thought a lot about this decision, but we think seven days is enough time to decide if a FIRST membership is right for you.

But, what does this mean to you exactly?

If you signed up for FIRST before 12:00 a.m. GMT June 5, 2018, and are currently on a free trial then you are on the 30-day trial, which will be honored when your auto-renewal takes place or you decide to cancel.

If you signed up for FIRST after 12:00 a.m. GMT June 5, 2018, and are currently on a free trial

then you are officially on the new 7-day trial, which will last until your auto-renewal takes place or you decide to cancel.

Have you ever had a free trial before? Sorry buddy, you don’t get another one so don’t go cancelling that FIRST membership to try and get 7-free days. ;)

The change will start tonight at 12:00 a.m. GMT June 5, 2018, and roll out over the next 24 hours on iOS and Android. Any other questions? Drop a comment below and I’ll be by to answer them!

    Much love,

  • Welcome to Rooster Teeth’s Murder Room!

We’re excited to finally show you the pilot for this new and modern take on a murder mystery. My guilty pleasure has always been true crime TV and working in the news industry gave me insight into how frustrating trials can be for everyone involved. I combined the two to come up with this nerve-wracking game where you are the jury of the future. Jury duty, fun? Maybe not in today’s courtroom, but in the Murder Room time is ticking and you have a big decision to make. From the mechanics to designing the gameplay, this type of show was new for broadcast and we had a blast building it. Everyone on our team had a hand in developing Murder Room and we're ready to hear your feedback. Now, please prepare to convict a killer.

And stick around for the credits.  :)

  • MDB Animated Premieres Today!

    Hey everyone!

I’ve got like a whole five minutes here to get something out quick before I go and crash after one hell of an incredible weekend down in Florida for MegaCon. First of all, the pilot episode of MDB Animated just premiered today (and if you haven’t watched it, GO - check it out now!) and I can’t wait to hear what you think about it.

You’ve watched Million Dollars, But… for years now, but we’ve come up to scenarios that are just impossible to act out with real humans without some serious bodily harm or mental scarring. That’s where the incredible 2D Animation team comes into play. With the help of the masterminds behind Nomad of Nowhere, Camp Camp, and RTAA, they’ve been able to take scenarios that we had no hope of ever creating to turn them into the animated feature you’ve seen today!

So, that’s it for now. Check out the pilot and let us know what you think!

    Hello all!

It’s finally here! The Achievement Hunter Crew has been talking about hunting monsters and ghosts for a while now so we’re all excited to share the pilot of Achievement Haunter with you. (Watch it here now!) If you don’t know about the show, @geoff challenges the AH crew to explore a haunted location and draw out the lingering paranormal spirits using fear as their tactic.

There are many questions we try to answer in the show: Do ghosts exist? Who is the bravest member of Achievement Hunter? Who can make Gavin shit his pants first? All important questions! And we want to tackle more in a full season, but the only way that will happen is if you watch it! Love it! And leave comments! We want to hear feedback, favorite moments and what excites you about the show.

    I’ll go first.

I’m excited because we try very hard to recreate the events of Yorktown Memorial in a unique and funny way. Combining horror and comedy is difficult, but I like playing in that sandbox. We hope you enjoy the cinematography as well as the jokes AH dreams up around the campfire. In addition, we want to push the boundaries beyond shows like Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures and MTV’s FEAR. Instead of following the rules, our ghost hunters are going to act like idiots, scare each other and actively try to antagonize the spirits--the opposite of what the professionals would do!

We hope you all enjoy the episode and let us make more!

    Eternally skeptic,

  • GORQ'S QUEST is here...but what is it??

    Hey hey!

If you're following all this PILOT MONTH stuff, you might be wondering, "What the fudge is GORQ'S QUEST?"

The short answer is that it's a comedy game show featuring a crew of riffing RT'ers co-hosted by a rotating Rooster Teeth personality and an imprisoned supercomputer robot from 1983 who can only become free once he learns more. His name is GORQ, which is short for GENERATOR OF RANDOM QUESTIONS, and he's kind of hard to work with. That was probably more like the medium-long answer.

This show is something I started to put together a few months back. I wanted to make a show that was more comedy-based where there was lots of riffing. So we did some test shoots with some of the folks around here for a show called UNEDUCATED GUEST. Those test episodes were pretty good, but everyone on the crew really liked this one weird segment I wrote where we took a break from answering funny questions and had the cast chat with GORQ (who at the time was simply the word "GORQ" on a screen), who spoke to us from inside a computer. I thought everyone was going to hate that part, frankly, because it was more than a little weird.

Brian Behm, who is like a do-it-all creative at RT, was sort of watching from the sidelines and told me that if I wanted, he could build a robot body for GORQ and allow him to be a real thing that could interact with the others. He basically asked me, "Do you want a robot?" And if you know anything about me, you would know that I would never say no to that question. Who doesn't want a robot? So he made version one of GORQ the robot, and I came up with a backstory for GORQ, and GORQ'S QUEST was born.

I really hope you like the show. My goal was to create something new and maybe a little weird that's really fun to watch, and there's a freakin' robot in it! I can already see a million ways to make it more fun and funny, and I'm super excited to see what people in the RT community have to say about it. Please watch it with an open mind, and don't judge GORQ too harshly – he's had a hard life thus far.

Join GORQ'S QUEST on Tuesday May 15th at 11am CT, only on FIRST!

  • Rooster Teeth Creative Community

    Aloha y'all.

My name is Tony Simonetta. I'm a huge Disney Parks fan, tiki enthusiast, and I hate cooked fruit. I'm also Rooster Teeth's Lead Merchandise Designer, which means I get to work with our talented team of in-house artists to create our full portfolio of merch designs for the Rooster Teeth Store.

I'm very excited to announce Community Creative, our new initiative to feature products designed by members of the Rooster Teeth Community and shine a light on the amazing artists behind the work. Starting this Friday with our latest Achievement Hunter merch drop, when you see the Community Creative logo it will signify that one of your fellow community members are responsible for the artwork on that piece. They have put blood, sweat, and tears into creating artwork for your favorite Rooster Teeth and Let's Play shows. And Funhaus.

But it's not  just a fancy new logo! We'll also be featuring our Community Creatives on journals and Rooster Teeth social throughout the year so you can get to know the artists better. Plus, the Rooster Teeth Store will have a special collection page with all of our Community Creative merch so you can easily collect them all.

Here's a peek at one of the shirts dropping this Friday from Community Creative and Achievement Hunter fan, Sami Jen! (@sami_jen on Twitter)

Check out Sami Jen's Art here:

I can't wait to show the Rooster Teeth Community the awesome merch we've got coming, so stay tuned. Finally, a huge Thank You goes out to all our previous Community Creatives for the amazing work they’ve done on the dozens of designs we’ve featured on the Rooster Teeth Store. We can’t wait to work with you again!

  • Branded Pilot Journal

    Party peoples,

It’s been a minute. I miss all your pretty faces.

I’m super excited to share with you the debut of our Branded pilot (haven't seen it? Go check it out now!) It is a workplace comedy that revolves around a handful of dishonest idiots who work at a small digital ad agency, producing the worst viral videos you’ve ever seen. It’s very much inspired by the people and projects I interacted with during the three years I spent in LA working on “branded content” (which is industry speak for the YouTube commercials you desperately try to skip after five obnoxious seconds).

We’ve been working hard on this for a few months and I know you guys are gonna love it. In addition to the friendly faces of @burnie, @Joel, and @micaburton, the show stars some of the most talented, funny, and professional actors I’ve ever worked with, hands down. Mike Capes from the hysterical Hacks of Life. Ted Meredith. Christina Parrish. Byron Brown. Jonah Yohana. Liz Tabish. All of them brought something incredible to the characters that really elevated the show. If you haven’t seen their work before, you’re in for a treat.

We wanted the show to feel like Mike Judge tackled the world of Mad Men, but set during the digital age. Some of my favorite comedies are Silicon Valley, Always Sunny, and Fresh Meat. We took those inspirations and combined them with a loose, fast-paced approach similar to Brooklyn 99 or Curb Your Enthusiasm. And that’s how Branded was born.

Check it out and let us know what you think!

  • Rooster Teeth in the UK

    ericherry Eric Cherry

    Hi Everyone!

Last week we made a huge announcement: Rooster Teeth is expanding through a newly established UK office. They've asked me to head up the project, and so I wanted to start by sharing with you how I fit into the Rooster Teeth Story and give you an overview of what our initial plans are.

I've been working with Rooster Teeth as a business partner for just over ten years now. At that time there were about ten people at the company, and they had just wrapped production of RVB Season 5 from their office in downtown Austin. I wasn't there. My office was in Melbourne, and I was responsible for selling their DVDs to Australian retailers. After doing that for a couple of years I launched the company Hanabee, and alongside an incredible group of colleagues and the Roo Teeth community (shout out Caiti), we hosted RT guests at conventions, boat cruises, afterparties, animation workshops, pub crawls, press tours and three instances of RTX Sydney. Those ten years put me in a unique place, where on the one hand I've been around the culture and community for quite some time, yet only now I feel it's appropriate to introduce myself. It's nice to meet you all, finally :)

Regarding our plans for the UK, I've compiled a list of four primary objectives I'm undertaking over the next 12 months which I'll share with you here:

#1 - Build a roadmap for improving the online store for global customers

Our goal is to get high-quality products to customers anywhere in the world as quickly and cheaply as we can. We know the product range, customer service and user experience in the UK is a problem, it's also far from perfect in Australia. Adding to the challenge is a world-class team in Austin that is turning out fantastic products, as evidenced by how fast they're selling out! So to figure out how to navigate these challenges, I'm working with the team to model up different logistical scenarios, weigh up our most realistic options and roll them out according to a timeline. It won't change overnight, but you'll start to see improvements over a relatively short period, and we will keep you updated as our plans progress.

#2 - Provide increased support for the RT community

By all accounts, the UK community is so passionate it's almost intimidating! With the insufficient support for the UK store, I can see how some members could feel overlooked, which is why I'm here. My first objective is to meet with members in person, learn about their passion, goals and activities - both big and small - and figure out ways to provide increased support to the UK community at national and regional levels. I will be attending most of the MCM events this year, which will take me around the country, and give me the opportunity to at least be in the same town as many of you. I look forward to connecting with as many of you fine folks as I can.

#3 - Reach out to developers, producers, talent, publishers, distributors and sponsors and figure out ways to work together

My goal here is to meet as many creative individuals and companies as possible that compliment the Rooster Teeth universe and seek out ways to collaborate. There's no limit; it's a never-ending process that has me travelling a fair bit, and it's a super fun part of the job.

#4 - Work with the executive team in Austin to decide on the best path towards long-term development for Rooster Teeth abroad

We have ideas on what we want to do long-term, and the rest of my time this year is spent researching and identifying pathways to make it happen. While we're not ready to announce many of the concepts we're throwing around, nor go on a hiring spree, I can assure you I'm working on all four of the above objectives concurrently with an eye towards exciting developments ahead.

Just to summarise, It's truly humbling to introduce myself to you all today through this huge and wonderful megaphone called I look forward to keeping you across our plans as they come to light, and I'm super excited to meet many of you throughout the year, wherever you may be.

    - Eric
